Spent 9 days here jUst the two of us my wife and i. Had a great time property and the complex is well managed
Pools
Cleaned twice daily on the beach great views. The apartment was one bed room had all the mod cons as u would in 5 star and balcony with bbq built in with chimey on the balcony we made use of it
I had a hire car so didnt experience any issues with venturing out
You must do the spa on site its called the atlantis wellness spa and for 20 quid you get a full 2 hr session which includes turkish bath, face mask, full body massage and i mean full body massage friendly and professional service
Beach is good however is shingle we used to drive to a different beach everyday change of scenery!

If u go here u must do the 12 island boat trip its about 10 quid for a full day cruise with stops on islands and lunch this is coming from someone who paid £150 pp to do something similar in the maldives!

We had an amazing 10 days here at Calis' Sunset Beach Club. Where to start!?

We stayed in Lighthouse 20, managed by Joy Lettings. Ferit, the representative who we were in contact with, met us at the front desk and helped us with our luggage to the apartment. Although it was already late, he took the time to explain everything very well, which we very much appreciated.

The apartment was lovely! First floor - twin bedroom, bathroom, open area living room and kitchen along with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. We spent most of the time here eating and enjoying the cool breeze from the sea. We were lucky enough to be on the right side of the complex to ensure that we had a shady balcony most of the time. We also used the bbq quite a bit, which was nice to have. Second floor - double bedroom, ensuite and lovely private roof terrace. Everything was clean and in good order. There was enough cutlery, crockery, etc and furniture was very comfortable. This is also the perfect kind of setting for friends sharing, as the split level gives you lots of privacy.

The swimming pools were very clean and very well kept. It was super convenient to walk down the steps and jump into the pool and our baby loved this kind of life! We also often walked to the main pool by the bar and entrance, as we could sip on something while our son enjoyed the splash pool.

Staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We bought our bread and a few other neccesities in the complex's little shop. Bread is very cheap, but the other items were pricy, so we tried to take a dolmush to the local supermarket for our groceries where food and other items were less expensive. The turkish bath on site is a must!

We did not find the walk into Calis a bother at all. Instead, we quite enjoyed being a little more out. We were able to walk to the promenade in around 10 minutes and especially enjoyed eating at Guvin's and Calis Beach Restaurant. The staff at both these places were very welcoming and kind to our baby, keeping him busy while we eat. It was only on the last day that we investigated the surf club, and we were very sorry about that, as again the owners were lovely, serving us fresh lemonade and turkish pizza - excellent food! next time we will hang out there all the time!

I can definitely reccommend Sunset Beach Club, as well as the area. We loved staying here, and also found that excursions from here were easy to organise. We can highly reccommend the 12 island boat trip and the trip to Saklikent Gorge and Olu Deniz by dolmush is easy enough.

Hope you have as good a time as we did! We look forward to our return.

Room Tip: apartments on the right (with the sea behind you) have more shade on the balconies.

I would recommend the Sunset Beach apartments to anyone.
The staff are courteous and polite.
There are Turkish baths on site and the masseuse sorted a problem I had with my calf muscle after the flight to Turkey. [All for £16 which in included the turkish bath..money well spent as it saved my holiday]
The pool and the pool area is very clean and the beach,[ mainly shingle I'm afraid] is just across the road.
Calias is about a 15min walk from the complex and you will need a torch for when you come back at night because the road isn't lit. But taxi's are cheap and plentiful from town.
There is a shop on site which sell the basics. There is also an underwear shop? that will exchange your sterling at a fair rate.
Tours can be booked from reception, although we didn't go on any, fellow holidayers said they were very good value for money.
If you like fish, then Fethyie fish market is worth a visit, you chose your fish and one of the restaurants situated in the market will cook it for you.
I would certainly return to the aptly named Sunset Beach [they say it's the best sunset in the world and I'm not going to argue]

Room Tip: Ground level near poor an advantage...but all rooms good

Our party of 6 stayed for 8 days in Sept 2011. Booked through Villarenters and was very impressed with the way things were handled by Julian the onsite representative who from the time of booking arranged our transfers, met us on arrival, organized a welcome pack and rectified a few problems we had with the apartment,ie,broken toilet seat, lights not working, broken chairs on balcony.
The view from the apartment and across the pool out to sea was fantastic although the beach is very gritty/pebbly and the sea is quite murky.
The onsite shop had very little choice for self catering but there is an all inclusive option at the onsite restaurant. The supermarkets in Calis were quite limited for groceries too. There are plenty of restaurants to try though.
The walk into Calis was attempted by two men in our party who estimated the time it took was 20 minutes .Needless to say we took a taxi or dolmus to venture into Calis every night as they were frequent from outside the apartment.
There is very little to do in the sunset beach club in the evenings apart from the beach bar which stayed open until about 12.30p.m but it was always quiet.
A good night out is going into Calis, catching the water taxi at sunset to Fethiye to eat at one of the many harbour restaurants. Turn right when you get off the water taxi and about 5 minutes along there's a lovely modern 2 storey one which has wonderful views from upstairs
with great food at really good prices.Sorry can't remember what it's called but it does stand out from the rest.

Pretty much agree with previous review although it is somewhere I would like to return to.

Ideal if you want a chilled relaxing holiday and happy going out for your entertainment/food.

The Dolmus run very frequently and never had to wait more than 5 mins when wanted to go out.

Lots of trips you can book if you want to make the holiday more active - boat trips galore - try and get on a small boat with freshly prepared food rather than one of the larger boats which we did which was quite crowded - go to Calis harbour near the water taxi and ask for prices for day cruises - you could hire the full boat for 10/12 for about £100 or 300 TL so not much in the price and a better experience if you wnat to eat something that tastes like chicken rather than something that claims to be but has never seen a chicken in it's life - makes a mCDonalds look good!

Also Jeep safari trip - ask where the trip will go and fit the size of the jeep to your paty requirements - a large 20+ seater will have a completely different approach and atmosphere to a 6-8 seater - just choose which one fits your needs better.

Beach not fantastic but then compared to Caribean many are not but relaxing near the water edge with a nice breeze reading my book....and sleeeping...heaven ..So if that sounds like your kinda deal then you will enjoy. The food in town is all delicious so just enjoy whatever takes your fancy. Particularly enjoyed the night we went on the water taxi to Feythe and ate at a harbour resteraunt upstairs overlooking the sea- cheapest meal onlu 51TL for 2 beers, 1 water, 2 mains chicken oranges, 1 pud one coffee about £18 at £9 ahead you can't really go wrong.

The apartment we had was a 2 Bedroomed in Seahorse block near the sea front and I believe in a better location than some of the other apartments located further back from the beach.

Go relax enjoy ... Beats working anyday

Just back (yesterday) from SBC. Spent 8 days here, complex okay, but the "trek" into Calis is a good 20+ minutes walk. Local buses & taxis 2 & 10 Lira respectively into town. Very little happening at the complex ( maybe out of high season), but overall daytime life concentrates around one of the pools & evenings, just a few folk around the bar nearest the beach. The beach across the quiet(ish) road not clean nor sandy houses a few rows of sun loungers, not all with cushions, but a cute resident dog !!
Spent most evenings in Calis at one of the many beachside restaurants, having seen the amazing sunsets that the area is famous for (lots of local residents on the beach between the complex & Calis) enjoying a BBQ & the view. If in town you have to "run the gauntlet" of the restauranteurs who try to get you to go into their establishment, can be fun if you play the game, but equally may be very offputting if you ar not at ease with the situation. Obviously didn't try all, but amongst the ones tried Serkul 1 was very good. Alex, the front man will tell you to try & if not satisfied then "pay nothing" !!, but to be honest the food was very good (even tho' jokingly we told him that it wasn't) !!
Spent our last evening over in Fethiye, reached by water taxi for 10 TL return, there is a very different athmosphere here than Calis ( more fishing harbour & local community), but very pleasant, also home to Tuesday market where "genuine fake" items abound !!
So, Sunset Beach Club for me not somewhere to return although others will !

We stayed at Sunset Beach Club for 3 weeks in the Poseidon Apartments. The apartment was a lovely, spacious, 3 bed duplex at the front of the complex giving us the most fantastic view of the sea and beautiful sunsets. The complex has a brilliant location in a quiet end of Calis but only a 10 - 15 minute walk along the promenade to the start of the many restaurants. We would recommend Bella Mamas (particularly their steaks) which is very popular - so get there early or allow time to wait for a table and have a drink at their bar. The Bus Stop cocktail and karaoke bar is modern and upmarket - a lovely place to finish off your evening sipping on a cocktail. It is an upstairs terrace bar and the staff make you feel so welcome. Fethiye town is worth a visit (although we prefered Calis) and the water taxis are a nice relaxing way to travel across taking approximately 30 minutes. We ate at the Arena restaurant in Fethiye and the meal was excellent.
Along from Sunset Beach Club is the Surf Centre (a 2 minute walk along the beach) where there is also a beach bar and restaurant. There are plenty of sun beds and cushions here and table tennis - all free of charge! We spent a lot of time at the Surf Centre and became good friends with the Turkish family who run the various businesses. They are the friendliest, nicest people who we shared many a laugh with. There is a Beach Party there every Friday night with a BBQ, fire act, belly dancer and disco all for 25 TL per person. A fun night with a great atmosphere! Our 2 sons (aged 14 and 11) also learnt to windsurf here and by the end of the holiday had obtained their licence and were being taught tricks!! My husband even had a go at Kitesurfing and did very well - and now has the 'bug'! It is fantastic watching the young experienced kitesurfers when they are out -some of their jumps and turns are amazing.
We had a brilliant day out on a Jeep Safari with Cadianda Tours visiting Tlos, Yakapark trout farm, Saklikent Gorge (where we did the ringo rafting - great fun!) and the Mud baths (also a good laugh) finishing off at Patara Beach. We didn't stop laughing all day - you must have a sense of humour and be prepared to get very wet! Take some water guns as there are major water fights all day between the jeeps - a fab day, especially if you have children!
The boat trip to Gocek Sunday market (booked at the water taxis) is very good value and a lovely day out, after the market sailing to different bays and having a superb lunch. Only a maximum of 12 people to a boat too.
The Sunset Beach complex is very clean and with 5 swimming pools it never felt that busy at the pool we used next to the bar and restaurant. The restaurant and bar are open all day and evening and the meals are excellent. The small shop onsite is very useful for fresh bread, milk and the essentials but for a big shop a visit to Migros is a good idea.
The heat in August is obviously extreme but the saving grace is the lovely breeze that picks up in the afternoon making it very comfortable.
We had the most amazing holiday and can highly recommend this location. We are all readly planning to return next year!

Room Tip: Apartments at the front half of the complex benefit from the views and the breeze.
