The above title is not to put you off but to help you if you have already booked there, while we had a wonderful 2 weeks lying around a beautiful pool surrounded with banana trees and the odd lime tree here and there, we did have a few hiccups.
Ours was downstairs and very spacious, kitchen equiptment appeared to be a bit hit and missy from one apartment to another, we had no tea spoons while others had no cups, 2 pots and a frying pan, kettle and fridge with small freezer compartment, you also get a cooker with oven -3 rings gas, 1 electric, however at our neighbours had to buy a ligher as the cooker was no where near a socket, they did complain about this but were given directions to a hardware store to buy an extention. Usual cockerals, dogs and prayers in the morning, air-con £5 per day, £20 per day to keep the room longer if travelling home after noon.
The cleaner came every 3 or 4 days, she seemed very nice, but they only have the 1 key to the apartments so if your using it as a base to go exploring make sure you hand in your key at reception or it wont get cleaned.
**Opt for one downstairs if possible as the balconies are much bigger**
**Take a lighter or matches for the cooker, cups if you have room**
Lovely pool, chap out every morning taking samples and doing whatever needed to be done, Sunbeds were plenty and they even supplied the cushions for them, there were 6 or 7 parasols but you also get some shade from the banana trees. Steps into the pool in one corner, water depth up to shoulders then half way a slope ino the deep end.
Was never very busy.
Worst poolside bar I have ever known, ran out of some spirits and never restocked for duration of our stay, bottles of beer were only large ones but plenty of soft drinks and water.
**Buy your spirits from duty free before you get there if you want to drink at your apartment**
**Buy large bottles of water at the shops as half the price of what you buy from the bar**
Tried to order breakfast first morning but we were told they had no food, need to go and buy it. A group of women tried numerous times to get a bowl of chips and when finally they said yes, it took 2 hours before they got them. No ice-cream freezer either!!
** Transfer from airport stops at a petrol station on the way, make sure you buy what you will need for your first day if arriving through the night**
Cafe Inn restaraunt (excellent) - and 3 other bars/cafe/restaraunt - hardware store - shop - petshop >Turn right out of the apartments and then left when you reach the main road, about a 10min walk much closer than the main strip.
Main strip and beach > Turn right again but at the main road turn right and continue until traffic lights (there are a couple of shops and restaraunts here too) then turn left and just follow the road its about 20mins to start of main strip then another 10 to the beach.
Sunday market > Turn left out the apartments and right at the main road, you will see the tent shapes in the distance, it sells everything except alcohol, we arrived early hours sunday morning and this is the first place we came to when looking for breakfast, there are cafes selling mainly pancakes, omelettes, burgers but very nice.
** Buy your fruit, veg, cheese, bread and anything else want to stock your fridge with**
**Turkish tea (not pre-packed but loose) lots of flavours and very refreshing hot or cold, they will even let you try before you buy**
Taxi rank at main strip it cost 4.68 turkish lira back to the Ozcem.
Water taxi to Fethiye takes 30 mins and costs 5TL
Can be booked from Fethiye harbour many to choose from, we went with the Kardaslier, lovely meal, either chicken or fish with salad and pasta. Cost 35 TL each including hotel pick up.
**Take some sort of water shoes as its very stoney getting from ship to shore if visiting the Islands.**
**Ex-pats recomend if your in a big group to hire a water taxis as they will go where ever you want them to go and if you dont like the look of an island you can tell them to keep going**
Very pebbly, watched many people going in bare foot and stumbling around. 2 beds and a parasol 15TL for the day.
**If adventurous jump on a bus and ask for surfers beach where its sandy (Ex-pat info)
All in all we enjoyed it, and it seems a popular place for turkish tourists too.
