This is worth an extra side-trip! Beautful tiles and lovely displays of other old tile-work of the period.

“For exquisite Seljuck tiles”
Reviewed February 7, 2012

One of the several Islamic higher education institution of its time the Karatay Medrese (Madrasah), built in 1251 by Celaleddin Karatay, a grand vizier of Seljuk Sultan now housing Seljuck tiles especially excavated from the summer palace of Kubad-ı Abad near Beyşehir lake close by. Important portion of the magnificent tiles once covered the walls and the dome of the building has been lost yet what ever is left is still breath taking.
The front gate of the building is also a very remakable example of stone craftsmanship

The building is by Alaeddin Hill, walking distance to Alaeddin Mosque and İnce Minareli Medrese.
