Oglakcioglu Park Boutique Hotel
Ranked #19 of 98 Hotels in Izmir

What a nice hotel! The staff was wonderful, very helpful and courteous. The hotel had all the amenities - satellite TV, nicely appointed rooms, hairdryer, shampoo etc., slippers, safe. It's in an alley off a main street. I would stay here again. The breakfast was fantastic. The hotel staff parks your car for you, and it's free. There was a choice of pillows. We booked an 'inside view' room, and I'm glad they upgraded us to ones with a view of the street below. The other would have been a bit claustrophobic.

I booked this hotel solely because of the high rating on tripadvisor. I was very disappointed for a number of reasons:

-The room was tiny. There was barely any space to move once two suitcases were inside the room.
-The room smelt like cigarettes even though it was a non-smoking room
-There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom
-The shower in the bathroom definitely didn't seem clean
-The area is really not great - lots of seedy hotels, quite noisy at night
-The decor of the hotel seems to be seriously dated like stepping into a bygone cruise ship

The only positives:
-The room was clean (notwithstanding the bathroom)

I cannot understand how this hotel is rated so high. I would definitely seek alternative accommodation for my next trip to Izmir.

A boutique hotel which is clean and tidy but the rooms are very small. (Felt a bit claustrophobic.) Although it is not in the best of areas the staff are helpful in directing you to main attractions and there is a bonus of free parking which the porters do for you. This break was not for beach or relaxing so the hotel fitted quite well.

Very nice hotel in the center of Izmir. Only a few blocks from the sea and its fabulous boardwalk with numerous restaurants and cafes. We had two rooms, and the air conditioning did not work in one room, and the staff changed to another room, but only after much persuasion. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of meats, cheeses, fruits, breads, and drinks. We took the metro from the airport for only 6,50 lira for two people, and it was very easy to reach in about 40-50 minutes. We would recommend this hotel as a great value in the center of the city.

Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, straddling a weekend. The service is good, the room is a little on the small side, but very serviceable (unless you specifically request a room with a bath tub, you'll get one with standing showers). The interior decor is kitschy, but comforting. Breakfast spread is also very good.

The location is a short walk off Fevsi Pasa Blvd from Basmane Train station in one direction, and leads to the Kordon waterfront on the other. You can definitely walk to the Agora, the museums or the Kameralti bazaar (or the Izmir metro) - it's also very convenient to the banks, 2 supermarkets within a 2 block radius, and a couple of Lokantasi in the area.

There are 2 issues - they are both related to the location of the hotel -

a) the area around the hotel isn't exactly the best after 2200. Got a few seedy bars out there, and there are people selling used phones until fairly late at night, not unsafe per-se, but it's a good idea to keep your guard up.

b) Basmane station is not serviced by the Izban commuter train to the airport, and if you do want to get to the airport inexpensively (Izban/TCDD is 3.5 TL, taxis are almost 10x that), you'll either have to walk to the Izban stop at Alsancak (2 km through Kordon) or the Izban stop at Kemer off Gaziler street (1.5 km, rather seedy area). You could take the TCDD train from Basmane to the airport, but there are only 4 trains a day. Keep that in mind if you have luggage to carry around.

This is my second time to stay in this hotel. The location is good, many tourist attraction is in walking distance or a short taxi ride. There are many restaurant outside the hotel, you have no problem to find food and buying water....
The room is a bit small, this is okay for Asian but if you are from North America, be prepare to have a shock with the small size of the room. After all, what you need is a clean room, a comfortable and friendly service. You have all these in this hotel. Breakfast include in the room rate and i like the quality of it.

Room Tip: Higher floor room is better.
