“The sea is great but the hotel is a 4-start, not a 5-star”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

We spent a weekend here to get some sun and stayed at the Ilica Hotel. The room was nice, big and clean, with a nice balcony but not luxurious or any of the sort. The staff at the beach is very helpful and there is a wonderful thermal pool. We particularly liked the sea, incredible clear and clean water and the sun bathing deck on the sea is beautifully laid out - comfortable to lay down with shade and easy to enter in the cool blue sea.
The fact that there are many minibuses going back and forth to the small towns of the peninsula (Cesme, Alacati, etc.) everyday (until 12 am) was very convenient. It gave us an easy opportunity to check them all out and have dinner outside.

What we didi not like? Breakfast was very crowded, and there was no fresh orange juice and only Machine coffee from an old Nescafe machine. Tasteless. The beds in the room were a bit to soft for my taste and the matresses on the beach chairs were too thin. On top of that, charging 4 Turkish Lira for a 0.5 liter bottle of water and 8 TL for a lemonade is really crazy, even if you are used to Istanbul prices like we are... This is ripping-off tourists.

All in we had a nice weekend, we are also easy going people, but to be fair, the hotel is a 4* and not a 5* one, and as always the devil is in the details.

Room Tip: Try to get a room as close to the sea as possible, you will have a better view from your balcony.

Forse un po' caro, ma la spiaggia è molto carina, pochi hotel hanno lo sbocco al mare e se non si vuole girare con la macchina o con i pulmini, questo hotel è un giusto compromesso! Maybe a little pricey, but the beach is very nice, just few hotels in the area have a nice private beach and if you do not want to use the car or minibus, this hotel is a good compromise!

First time I stayed in that hotel almost 6-7 years ago, and that time the rooms was not so clean, the food was terrible, the sea side wasn't so nice.

And last weekend I went there again(06/10/2012). The rooms were designed again, it was so clean and nice, the food was fantastic, and the sea side was wonderful, they have brought new sand to the beach and it was great for my son.
If I am going to stay in Cesme, I will stay there for sure.

My boyfriend and I spent a 8 nights holiday in Ilica Hotel Spa & Wellness resort in the second part of June 2012. This was our 3rd holiday in Turkey, so we had certain expectations from a 5* holiday resort. However, our expectations were only partially met:
- the description on booking.com states 7 outdoor pools , which is not the case. There is actually 1 medium large pool, 1 smaller pool- never saw somebody using it, it had more a decorative purpose, an outdoor hot/thermal bath (i would not call it pool) and a kids pool. We prefer the sea, so the lack of actual 7 outdoor pools did not affect us too much, but i believe the hotel description and advertisement should be clear and fair.
-room was ok and clean but definitely not 5* room- as per size, design and furniture
-food- we had breakfast and dinner included, both good but not really special; the sweets part was rather disappointing. A la carte food was generally tasty but quite pricey.
-the facade of the hotel was almost scary for me, really ugly. However, the interior is much better.

We particularly liked the sea, incredible clear, clean and beautiful and the arrangement of the sun bathing deck on the sea - nice and comfortable to lay down and get tan and easy to enter in the cool blue sea. I also appreciated the music selection & volume- you could hear it and enjoy it without being at all disturbed.

Based on the other reviews we checked before booking we expected that nobody from the staff speaks English, however we had the pleasant surprise to always find a English speaker at the reception, and generally they were friendly and helpful.

The fact that there are many small buses driving everyday (until 12 am) back and forth the small towns of the island (Cesme, Alacati, etc) was very convenient. It gave us an easy opportunity to check them all and enjoy our evenings out.

All in we had a nice holiday, we are also easy going people, but to be fair, the hotel is a 4* and not a 5* one.

I like the rooms very much we stayed at the main building in a suit and it was good. But unfortunately there's nothing to do especially at night. I came here with my friends and we got so bored. If you come to stay at this hotel don't stay at night have your dinner and go to alacati or aya yorgi.

Very nice place, friendly staff, cozy & clean, attentive to details, great food, great locaton and scenery, affordable specially on weekdays ... Charges increase a bit on weekends. In general, Ilicac is a real vacation destinatipn, ... It worth every dime.

I spent 8 days in this hotel. I made my reservation 4 months ago. I paid 3200 Turkish liras for 8 nights for the family room. ( 219 USD per day ... only breakfast and bed ..... no lunch nor dinner )
One bottle of mineral water was 6 Turkish liras. ( It is 12 times of the price in the store !!! )
English tourists in the hotel were also shocked by the expensive prices of the beverages.
There weren't any activities for sports, water sports , animation , shows.....
My 4 years old daughter was also bored of silly people in the mini club. The room was coosy but the mini bar was like a money trap !!!
The house keeper was lazy . I advise you to choose another hotel.
