“Mostly very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2011

My husband and I stayed here on a portion of our honeymoon, and overall I loved our time in Ilica and Cesme but with a few small things I would just have liked to have known beforehand.

1. The hotel is on a very busy stretch and I think the hotel's website is misleading in this aspect. I had though Ilica was more of a small coastal town but there are lots of bars and a boat that blast club music and takes out beach partiers. There also was one night when we came home after dinner and I had to ask the staff to turn off the club music they had pumping at the beach at 11 p.m. (Staff were extrenely polite and ran to do this though).
2. The rooms are extremely small. I'm used to traveling and do not expect large rooms but for the high price and high standard of the hotel I felt I should have been given a closet that was wider than 1.5 ' and also somewhere to put our suitcases. There literally was only 1 -2 feet of space on either side of the bed. and we had paid for the "better" oceanfront room. We had to shove our suitcases on one side of the bed standing up (so I couldn't open to get anything out), and then jump into bed from the other side of the room.
3. We had a car and I would say you definitely should have one if you visit, otherwise you would never see the surrounding areas which are beautiful.

The good sides:
Amazing breakfast served whenever we wanted and wherever we wanted

Very nice sun lounge chairs and a ladder into the water, great for swimming

Staff were all so helpful and polite

This is the first review that I have ever written on Tripadvisor but the Nars Ilica was so utterly fantastic that I had to prompt others to go there too. My husband and I went as a belated honeymoon before our baby arrives; in the light of being nearly 7 months pregnant and with past negative experiences of hotels abroad I was feeling a little anxious - until we arrived at the Nars. The hotel itself is beautifully restored, with luxurious rooms and attention to detail throughout the hotel. The staff are impressively attentive and this is what truly sets this hotel apart. We were looked after in every possible way, with daily advice on local restaurants, the best place to purchase baklava etc...literally no request was too much for them. If you ignore the beachfront to the left and the right you are in heaven...the water is beautiful to swim in and we were blessed with great weather. We were so sad when we had to return back home and will definitely be back.

The previous reviews have really said it all. This is an amazing boutique hotel and we all loved it. So tastefully furnished, comfortable, with an amazing breakfast. One evening we came home around 11:00 p.m. and the boy on duty wanted to know if he could prepare a drink for us before we retired. This is such a lovely touch. We had hot chocolate and tea in the lounge.
I loved the natural spring jacuzzi in the backyard too.
We were sad to leave and wished we had more days here.

Stayed 5 days at Nars Ilica and cannot recommend it highly enough. Beautiful house looking right out on the gorgeous water. The inn was very tastefully decorated and homey but plenty of privacy. Gracious staff were friendly and helpful at all times, even babysitting our 2-year-old (who fell in love with every member of the staff) one night when we went out for a last-night dinner at a fantastic restaurant nearby. Beautiful, delicious breakfast every morning, nice simple dinners, and lovely thermal-spring jacuzzi.

We had a second-floor room with a good-sized bedroom, a separate sitting room and a huge bathroom (almost as big as the bedroom itself and plenty big enough to handle our crib). Picture-perfect village of Alacati is a 5-minute drive, so you can stay here and have a little more peace and quiet than you might in the very-trendy Alacati while still being able to get over to Alacati or Cesme very easily for their larger selection of restaurants, cafes and shopping.

I know that until now there have been no reviews available for the Nars Ilica. But it looked beautiful, so we decided to stay with them.

Its easy to find a hotel that does a number of things well. Its rare to find a hotel that does everything exceedingly well. Nars Ilica is that hotel.

Its hard to imagine a finer hotel experience. The old mansion has been beautifully redone. The main floor is a series of gorgeous and comfortable sitting rooms and outside seating areas. Very nicely put together. Most of the floors and trim in the hotel is the original wood, bare and unpainted. Its a striking look. We had a Sea View Deluxe room on the second floor. It had a great view of the Aegean, a very nice bedroom, HUGE bathroom and a great breakfast room with balcony, also overlooking the sea. We had coffee brought to the room before breakfast each morning. The breakfast room also had french doors to the hallway so we could be served without anyone walking through the bedroom.

Speaking of breakfast, when we checked in, I asked when breakfast was served. The immediate response was "whenever you wish." At that point, I knew this would be a good stay.

The hotel is actually across a small street from the water. But they have managed to have the street closed to traffic so you simply stroll across. At the waterfront is the hotel-owned seating/sunning area. It is beautiful...large white sectional seating, chairs and chaise lounges. Some of it is well-shaded for the sun-averse among us. While you are there relaxing, the service is perfect. It seems that they have as many staff as guests. They anticipate everything and nothing is too much to ask. We had our breakfast each morning at one of the sectional seating areas....like a dream.

They have a car that you can use to be taken to other areas, including Alacati...well worth a visit. They will also guide you by car to anywhere you want to go. We went to a fairly remote restaurant one evening and they drove a "guide car" in front of us to the front door of the restaurant. Honestly, nothing is too much to ask. They do not have a spa, but they have an arrangement with the nearby Sheraton spa and are happy to arrange whatever you wish.

Finally, the water is shallow and warm...the swimming is great.

We highly recommend the Nars Ilica....a truly wonderful experience.
