Exceeded all expectations- a PERFECT weekend!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 15, 2015
We chose the Fontainebleau Inn for our wedding and can confidently say that it was a picture perfect weekend. Our family stayed at the Inn Friday-Sunday and every moment of our stay was beautiful. Leading up to our wedding and throughout the entire wedding weekend, Teri and John, the owners of the Inn, were incredibly professional, helpful, and made sure our stay was peaceful and comfortable.

Our guests raved about the Fontainebleau Inn. From the picturesque view of the lake with bright blue skies and vibrant green trees, to the simple and elegant decor and furniture, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their evening at the Inn. We feel so lucky to describe to friends and family who weren't able to attend that every aspect of our weekend far exceeded our expectations.

The Inn is very clean and well kept. The grounds were in perfect condition. The breakfast served both mornings was delicious and we had a variety of foods to enjoy! Throughout the day John and Teri were very helpful, keeping us on track and organized while consistently maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.

Our wedding ceremony took place at the Lawrence Chapel adjacent to the Inn and the path leading to and from has a charming and rustic feel to it. Our reception was perfect. From the cocktail hour, to toasts, dinner, and dancing, everything flowed so smoothly largely due to the terrific team at the Inn. We could not be happier with our experience here and will give it the highest recommendations whenever we can.

The Fontainebleau Inn is THE PERFECT place for a wedding/reception! Our daughter and son-in-law had their wedding reception here on Saturday, October 25th. We initially saw the Inn in February and it looked beautiful then---when we came back for their wedding in October it was beyond our wildest dreams! Our jaws dropped when we drove up and saw the stately Inn with the most gorgeous backdrop of Fall foliage situated on Cayuta Lake. The Inn proprietors,Terri and John, went above and beyond to make the whole weekend the most memorable days of our lives. The Inn itself is spotless and the breakfast served is out of this world! The bedrooms at the Inn are all decorated beautifully with private baths, which made getting ready for the big event so easy and not complicated. Our guests are all saying it was THE BEST wedding reception they have ever been to-from the incredible dining room with hardwoods and Chiavari chairs to the patio with spectacular views of the lake...every detail is beyond words. They loved the fact that they could explore the Inn and grounds--and did not have that that "claustrophobic" feeling in a hotel ballroom. We feel beyond lucky that we found this spectacular place to hold such a once in a lifetime event!!

Our daughter was married at the Inn on Saturday, October 11. Our hosts Terri and John were nurturing, accommodating, genuine, and professional. Noteworthy was the whole package: an exquisite of beautiful setting, a 200 year old structure dripping with history, old-time beauty, and character. The Inn was expansive; resulting in opportunities for family gatherings and quiet time when needed. The raw beauty of the Inn and the special event brought old friends and new families together for a bonding experience revolving around our 2 children; there were memories created which will last beyond lifetimes, and many stories which are added now to two families' collective traditions and lore, nurturing the bonds we formed to each other last weekend.

I loved this inn more than I can even explain. It offers more than the imagination can even create. I had a wedding reception here in May, 2014, and every guest was so taken by the atmosphere. It was absolutely stunning with the patio that had white lights and the gorgeous lake in the background. It felt like something out of the 1920's, very Gatsby-esq. The owners were so wonderful, they have been doing this a long time and are undaunted by last minute changes. They have laid back attitudes and really just want to help make your day wonderful. They have great breakfasts, excellent attitudes, and really made the party and our extra overnight stay the day after it, very enjoyable. I really can't say enough good things about this place. Do yourself a favor and book this for your next event or just go check it out for a night!

My son and daughter-in-law got married here in July 2013. The Inn is very tastefully renovated--warm, comfortable, but not pretentious. The grounds are spacious and beautiful. The wedding was outside, overlooking Cayuta Lake. We weren't sure the weather would hold so John waited until the last minute to set up the chairs. He accurately called it safe to go ahead outdoors. There would have been a lovely terrace for the ceremony if it had rained. The bride and groom even took a spin in the canoe after the ceremony. John and Terri were very helpful throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding, and did extra things to make our day just right. They really know their business. We liked being able to choose our own caterer from the list they provided. A perfect place and a perfect day!

Room tip: The members of the wedding party who stayed at the Inn were pleased with their accommodations but since I din't stay there, I can't comment on it.

Lovely owners, and gorgeous property. The lake view with fall colors is breath taking. Terri and John could not have made our special day easier with their management the day of and their suggestions for food/music/ceremony vendors all along the way. Book early to researve a date!
