The castle sits in the heart of downtown with plenty to see and do in the area. It gives you a great feel for Turkish culture with shops, metal workers, food etc in the area. The castle is certainly a site to see but the only bummer for us was that it is undergoing a major restoration project right now and we weren't allowed to enter. I think when it is done it is going to be incredible to look at just like all the other castles that are scattered around Turkey.
