“Good place to stay”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

I was surprised at the quality of this hotel, considering the price. It was attractive and clean, with a great pool and large room with a balcony. The breakfast was excellent, and dinner served there was pretty good also. The staff was very helpful. Parking is right in front on the street.

This hostel is absolutely gorgeous. There is a reason its ranked #1-- its fantastic! The rooms are immaculately clean, with beautiful decorations and are very quiet. The staff are fantastic, being very flexible about our booking dates (we had to change ours last minute), they helped us book our early morning transport, and even offered us sandwiches as we had to leave before their breakfast started. I highly recommend eating dinner there as well, the food is absolutely fantastic. The pool is also very clean and awesome to go in on a hot day. Overall a great stay.

Travelled as a group of 3 in June 2013. We were greeted by the hotel shuttle at the main bus station upon arrival, despite arriving much past the check-in time. Friendly service from the beginning, gave us great recommendations about Pamukkale. The hotel in general was very clean, our room was no different. Private ensuite with balcony and fairly spacious. Swimming pool was available for our use, but it didn't have a shallow end. Outdoor dining with home-cooked Turkish meals was delicious. Standard free breakfast. The owners looked after their guests very well, they helped us out and had a genuine interest in us. At the end of our stay, a staff member dropped us off at the bus station again and as usual, helped us with our bags. Beautiful place to stay in Pamukkale!

Pamukkale is very hard to get to, so spending the night is a good idea. However, there are very few comfortable options in town. Most of the places are tacky and terrible. In contrast, we found this place to be charming. The hosts were very warm and engaging. The dinner was quite adequate (lots of food so order light). The accommodations were fairly humble, but that's to be expected. There ended up not being any hot water in the morning, which was a little bit of a disappointment, but overall it was a very pleasant stay. Perhaps the managers could warn people about the hot water and let them know when the best time of day for taking a hot shower would be (we think the water is solar heated, so maybe in the late afternoon?).

It's a lovely family owned hotel, not fancy or luxury but provide a good place to stay. Room is spacious, although no elevator, so people with trouble climbing stairs should request room at lower level. Service is great, owner is very friendly. We ate at the restaurant there, very delicious food. Breakfast was good with tasty home cooking items. Hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the park. Offers free street side parking.

Stayed one night at while visiting the pools. Rooms were ok for a nights sleep. Breakfast included in the room rare was the standard European style. I think Pamukkale is a little short on better quality hotels.

We just recently stayed at this hotel... The Dolmus minibus dropped us in the center of town, about 1km from the hotel... Someone in the town called the hotel, and the owner was there to fetch us within 3 minutes. He helped us with the bags, as we told him that we were getting late into town, and wouldn't have time to swim in the Antique (Cleopatra's) pool, see the ruins, and still make it to Ephesus the next day to see that site, before we had to leave on a flight out of turkey two days distant. We were prepared to spend 300TL (about 160 dollars) on a taxi from Pamukkale to Selcuk the next day, just to make it on time. He suggested that we see the site in the morning, and then told us there was a train (train travel in Turkey??! YES!) from Denizli to Selcuk the next day at 12:50PM that would get us to selcuk by 3:50 in time to see Ephesus the next afternoon. Then he drove us personally up to the top of the Hieraopolis site that evening, so we could see the ruins that night. He refused to take our tip, asking us to put it in the tip box for his staff. We had a wonderful home-cooked meal of Turkish food that evening, cooked by the owner's Mother and Auntie. Next morning, we had a great breakfast, got up to swim in the pool, saw the museum, and were back by 11 to catch the minibus to Denizli. They drove us to the minibus stop, told the minibus driver to drop us at the train station, and we made it in 3 hours to Selcuk, and saw the whole Ephesus site, almost to ourselves, late in the day just before sunset. PERFECT. It was the owner and his staff that really make this place stand out. AMAZING, friendly, and goes WAY beyond what's expected. The room was wonderful, pleasant, and inviting. I can't say enough about this place. It's quiet, as it's a bit out of the center of town, but again, they are happy to give you a lift to the site's top entrance, so that you can walk DOWN the hill rather than up it. GREAT addition to our vacation! Thank you Melrose House Hotel!
