“Great place”
Reviewed March 18, 2014 via mobile

A really nice place for the budget traveller with friendly helpful hosts and a great breakfast. The rooms were well appointed with kettle and hair dryer and useful information kits. Wish we had the time to stay another night.

After a very poor experience arriving in Pammukale by bus, the Venus Hotel was much needed safe haven. We arrived pre-dawn and the staff very kindly welcomed us and let us check in early. We found our room to be clean and comfortable and everyone was so nice to deal with. We enjoyed breakfast and took advantage of their transport service to Hieropolis and after a long day enjoying the ruins and the travertines, walked back to the hotel where we had a very fine dinner. Although not in the "center" of town, Pammukale isn't that large and it's just a short walk to the hotel, even with luggage. We highly recommend!

Let's be honest, while driving around Turkey, there is very limited to be done at Pamukkale except the Heriapolis and the iconic travertines...so the place to chose for the 'one night stand' has to be clean and should check the check marks on basic needs. Venus does more than that.

It is small and is almost like a guest house or an apartment building but it is run by a family and they treat you like one as well...the food in the restaurant is good..though breakfast could have a little more options but no complains...you don't pay much but you get every bits worth...

Pamukkale gave me the overall impression of a very dated and run-down mini-golf course. It's kitchy and tired and has the air that it's heyday is behind it. However, Hierapolis and the Travertines and absolutely worth a visit so staying in town is rather necessary.

The Venus hotel was very inexpensive and clean. The linens were older but clean. The breakfast was plentiful and the patio was very pleasant (if no one was smoking). It was very hot during our visit in October (I shudder to imagine what it's like at the height of summer,) and the plunge pool was actually so cold we changed out minds about hopping in. I don't recall the number of our room, it was on the first floor directly above the pool, but it was pretty small and the ceiling in the bathroom was so low my 6'5" hubby could barely stand straight. The shower, which was higher, was impossible to stand up in for him.

Unlike most of the other hotels we stayed at we really didn't have any interaction with the staff, but honestly most all the hotel staff we met in Turkey were super friendly and helpful, so I believe the reports that the Venus hotel staff is awesome.

The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to the travertines and there are some convenience stores on the way in case you need a cold drink. Apparently the parking situation around the Venus is not good, so following the advice of the staff we opted to hoof it.

I realize this sounds like a mixed-bag review - I guess it sort of is - but when you consider the town itself, finding a clean, friendly, and inexpensive place to stay is great!

Room Tip: The rooms seem to vary greatly in size and comfort. If I had to do it over again, I'd ask to see...

Stayed one night in the Venus hotel in Pamukkale and glad that I chose it. Although the price is inexpensive, you get treated very well as a family guest not a client.
Hasan was very helpful and kind to explain everything in detail and was always friendly and approachable. He welcomed me with a warm smile and a Turkish tea (almost everytime). Rooms were good and the Breakfast was nice. The reception area is nicely decorated and has a free computer with good internet connectivity to use anytime.
Hasan also informed us about the dodgy travel agents and also gave some good advise/tips about what to do and where to eat in Pamukkale.
When I cudnt do the Aphrodisias day trip due to shortage of travelers, he suggested me to explore Leodikya and I am glad that I listened to him.
This was one of my best stay in a hotel! Highly recommended.

Great rooms and decor. Mr. Hasan was extremly helpful. He even opened up the restaurant after our late arrival. We had a triple and a quad bed room. Decor was lovely. Very helpful staff. They let us park right in front of the hotel

After the dolmus drop us at the wrong end of town Hasan, the owner, came and got us. Later that day he dropped us at the top of the Hierapolis and also took us to the dolmus station in the morning. We had dinner there which was the best food so far in Turkey. The room and outside area was very nice but it was the service that will have us back if we are ever in Pamukkale again
