The thermal pools are amazing, the only place looking like this in the world, Unesco Heritage Site.
Views are magnificent, the experience is unique.
The Hierrapolis site itself is quite big so make sure you have at least 3-4 hours there.

The only minus as any of the world famous sites is that it was crowded with tourists, but I guess this is inevitable nowadays.
Totally recommend going there!

We booked to go to Pamukkale with local agent in Icmeler and although it was a long tiring day we really enjoyed it. It took well over three hours by coach to reach, but we stopped on the way for turkish breakfast. Before we reached Pamukkale we were taken to an Onyx factory and jewellery shop, which we could have done without but it was interesting. When we finally arrived we were told it would cost an extra 30 lira each to enter the Cleopatra Pool, but it looked absolutely packed so decided not to bother and went to look at the Travetines instead, which were white mineral pools. We really enjoyed the stunning setting and paddled about in the pools, then went to look at the ruins of the city of Hieropolis just above the Cleopatra Pool, which were very interesting and we sat in the ancient theatre. On the way back we were taken to a leather showroom, which was really not necessary as were getting tired by then. On the whole we had an informative day out and would recommend the trip to Pamukkale.

When we were driving to Pamukkale we never imagined what was ahead of us.First the white hill which at first sight seemed covered with snow. We soon learnt it was not. It is the mineral composition that gives it the white color.
The site not only has the thermal water falling and taking that clear turquoise color that transports you to another world of beauty, but also the thermal pools and the pumps from which you can drink the water.
They also have a " flying carpet voyage "available and it makes a great souvenir.
The theater up the hill is worth a visit. They even do concerts there.
Definitely a place to visit.

The pools have stunning views.Though the sun was at its peak but afternoon is the best time to view these thermal pools .The bright sun shining over the travertines makes the scenery more breath taking.Theres single ticket for entry for thermal pools and Heirapollis ancient city.
I totally agree with the decision of not letting people enter the traventines otherwise the view will be obscured by the crowd
