AS a tourist attraction we didn't find Pamukkale all that compelling. Being from western Canada we've seen lots of mountains and hot springs...but our itinerary put us there for 2 nights. I changed our hotel to the Ayapam after reading nice reviews in Trip Advisor.
Indeed it was a positive experience. It is located just a little ways from all of the tour bus/gift shop hubbub on a quiet residential street. The pool is quite large and immaculate. The rooms are plainly decorated but spacious enough. The staff were charming and helpful; especially the day receptionist.....well known to all of the tour guides for her blue eyes and warm personality. My wife and daughter had massages and Turkish bath's and reported them absolutely fabulous.
We ate elsewhere just to get out in the evening. Pamukkale is a backpacker/young peoples kind of place and the atmosphere in the tiny downtown is quite lively.
This is not a luxury hotel but is a most pleasant place to hang out for two days and I would happily stay there again.More
