We booked 3 nights at the Urgup Cave Inn on recommendation. Omer, the friendly owner, confirmed our bookings by email and gave us very helpful information regarding transport to Cappadocia from Antalya also meeting us at the bus station in the evening. On arrival, we were greeted by Aslan with a welcoming cup of cay and shown to our rooms. The en-suite rooms were well furnished and comfortable, my friend resided in a cave room with vaulted ceiling while I had a new room at a higher level with a lovely view of the valley and a sunny terrace on which to eat breakfast. Breakfast was wholesome and quite a treat, served by the ever-smiling Aslan, with plenty of cay to wash it down! The hotel is well situated just a few minutes from the town centre, in an elevated position in a quiet lane near the rock, very peaceful.

Urgup itself is a lovely town, the old part is very pretty, a backdrop of honey-coloured stone overlooking a wide expanse of valley and the new town. It is centrally situated with bus links to most places of interest and has a reasonable choice of restaurants and of course, a winery as this area is renowned for its vineyards. Within a short bus ride is Mustafapasa, a charming village with plenty of wonderful hiking opportunities, the rock fortress of Uçhisar with its panoramic views and Göreme, centre of the tourist trail with the open-air museum and Rose Valley. From the top of the massive rock ridge in Urgup, riddled with cave houses, there are amazing views and it was well worth a morning's walk.

Omer was invaluable, personally showing us the historic hamam, recommending restaurants, arranging discounted trips for his guests and giving us information on the area. Normally we would have made our own way but one of the trips was very interesting and good value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed the day. He and his staff went out of their way to be helpful, even giving us a lift on more than one occasion and we would highly recommend his cave hotel and our only regret is that we were not able to stay longer in beautiful Cappadocia at this charming accommodation.

When we first drove up to the Inn, we weren't to sure about it, but the "Don't judge a book by it's cover" kicked in and we were very pleasantly surprised when we entered the courtyard. What a nice little oasis. Aslan, the major domo of the inn, showed us to our rooms and once again we were very pleasantly surprised. Different but suited the place perfectly. And we can't say enough about Aslan. What a helpful, friendly and gentle man!

We met the owner Omer later in the day and what a fountain of knowledge. He knows everything and everyone it seems. He works for the local tourism school and has been a guide for many years. We were so impressed that we actually hired him and his Ford Focus for the day to show us around Cappadocia.

There was a bit of a mix up with hot water one day as they use both solar and a water boiler to get their hot water. Fixed right away when it was mentioned. A first class continental breakfast with fresh fruit, cheeses, meats and breads. The rooms were large and comfortable.

Used Sultan Balloons, as recommended by Omer, for a hot air balloon trip over the wild landscape. Couldn't have been more satisfied with the choice. They are a first rate operation. Our pilot, Derya, is an instructor and has taught many of the other pilots in the area. Ballooning over Cappadocia is worth every penny that it costs, so be sure to do it!! Years from now you will still be talking about it and not worrying about the money it cost.

Over all we were very satisfied with our stay and would do so again. It was true value for your money!

I was in Urgup with a friend of mine and we decided to stay in Omar's hotel after seeing the pictures on the web. Omar was so friendly and helpful, and made our stay a very pleasant one. He arranged transport, had sound advice on day trips, booked the hot-air balloon trip on our behalf - all very quickly and efficiently. The rooms are comfortable, the staff friendly, the breakfast under the veranda superb. I actually wished we had stayed longer. And in comparison to other Inns in town the price was really good. Value for money!

I booked this hotel via email, with no credit card reservation and hoped for the best when we got out of the bus in Urgup. What we found was an awesome little boutique hotel with great, friendly, and VERY accommodating staff and located in a very unique setting. Although our bus arrived close to midnight, we were met at the bus stop by the hotel owner. The staff was very helpful at recommending day activities, and booking them through our staff saved us a bundle. We even got a private tour of the rock castle located half a block from the hotel. Don’t miss the fairy chimneys or the hot air balloon flight. Although pricey, it will be a trip of a lifetime. This was one of the most relaxing and unique places I've ever stayed at. My only regret was that we could only spend two days in the beautiful Cappadoccia. I would highly recommend Urgup inn, it's an excellent value for your money.

I really enjoyed the warm Turkish hospitality but the high point of my visit to Turkey this time was a trip to Cappadocia. I stayed in the Urgup Inn Cave Hotel. It has comfortable cave rooms with clean and modern bathrooms. Sleeping in a cave room was a nice experience, because the temperature and the humidity are perfect and contribute to a relaxing atmosphere. Breakfeasts were delicious and the staff could not have been more helpfull and friendly.
The owner of the hotel is a realy nice person. He takes a personal interest in welcoming his guests and making them fell comfortable, from organizing their tours and visits around Cappadocia, making reservations of bus and plane tickets to negotiating with the hotel of your next destination.
He helps you experience all that Cappadocia has to offer.
After touring the sourounding you can relax terace under the trellis (in the picture). Its really beautiful.

“We were passing by for a day in Urgup when we met Omer. He is a very... very... friendly person and convinced us to stay in his Cave. Staying in a cave in Capaddocia is nearly a MUST! Small but very cozy the Cave Hotel. Clean, organized and most important of all we were hosted by a gentle owner and a friendly waiter. Great break fast at Turkish stile. We never would find by our own the sunset best point of Capaddocia, but Omer took us there. He joined us in some visits around by. The best experiences people can have in life it is, for me, having the opportunity to knowing the diversity of the world and the sympathy of its people. We thank you also the nice birthday cake he presented S M L... T and R thank you for your hospitality...”
