We spent two weeks in Turkey and stayed in all sorts of hotels from the most luxurious in Istanbul (for work) to Ürgüp Inn Cave Hotel, our hotel for 3 nights in Cappadocia. Ürgup Inn was probable the least fancy of all the hotels, yet I feel it was the one we got the most for our money. A small 7-room, family-owned, no-frills sort of inn, it was the quaintest and most delightful of all the places we stayed. Within a very short walk to the town center, the inn was well located as a point of departure for our excursions to some of the most fascinating landscapes and places I have ever encountered. The staff was friendly and helpful and we were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived. Breakfasts were filling and always-smiling Duran served them to us in the grapevine covered courtyard, although we could also have had breakfast on the second-floor terrace table next to our room. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable with heating/air conditioning and TV cable. No room service, no dining service, but none needed—there is a well supplied corner store and the restaurants are a 10 minute walk away. It seems that wireless internet is also able, but why on earth hook up to the real world when what you want is to escape from it? And this is the ideal place to escape to another time, another place, another era. Cappadocia means land of the beautiful horses in old Persian. Today people go for the beautiful and unique land formations and cave dwellings, but I for one have returned to the United States impressed by their beautiful people. Nowhere in all my travels have I encountered kinder, more charming human beings! Would I recommend this place? Absolutely!

Room Tip: The rooms near near the reception seem to be specially charming.

A small hotel with 6 distinct rooms this is a wonderful value for the money. The hotel had been a Greek Orthodox home at one time. Fastidiously clean with all the amenities and a short walk to the center of town. A real taste of Cappadocia. On the first stay I was in the "cave" room, then on my return I was in the "Chapel" what fun!!!. Omer, the owner , was beyond helpful and friendly. What ever I wanted or needed he made it happen, balloon ride, trip to Mt Nemrut, wooden crates for my purchases, suggestions for meals, shopping with a more personal touch... not the normal hard sell, personal tour of Cappadocia, it did not matter, he made it happen. He personally drove me to the bus station and made sure I was on the correct bus for my trip back to Ankara. The staff were friendly and professional. A staff member was on duty 24/7. Omer spoke excellent English and was on the premises most of the day and evening. There is no way you could find a better place to stay for the money and for the personal services.

We booked one night here because it was well reviewed, we were coming in late, the place we booked (up the hill) for the next two nights wasn't available, and it was incredibly priced. Omer was easy to communicate with via email ahead of time and set up airport transport for us at a reasonable cost. Our bed was little too hard, but otherwise, no complaints. Omer was so welcoming, gracious and helpful, that we felt lucky to have spent a night here before setting out to discover Cappadocia. The breakfast in the morning was plentiful, in the nice outdoor courtyard in the hotel. Omer gave us lots of practical advice on what to do in the area. It's right in town, easy walking to restaurants and shops. If you are on a budget, this place is great.

The situation of the hotel and the hospitality of the owner made all was hommy (like at home), so we feel very comfortable stay there.
The breakfast is standard, but for us it is OK.
The room is clean and cozzy design.
The owner, Omer is very kind and helpful.

Excellent Choice: Urgüp Inn Cave Hotel: Relación calidad-precio estupendo
We found the Urgüp Inn Cave Hotel on the Internet: http://www.urgup-cave-hotel.com/
and contacted Omer Nair directly by email. From the beginning until to the end of our stay, Omer was very helpful, kind and courteous to everyone. He and his stay were waiting for us, with a smile on their faces, on our arrival at midnight. For the price, your get a great "cave" the room, ours was originally a church chapel!), with en-suite shower-bathroom, lovely traditional decoration (plates, carpets, etc), a warm reception by Omer and his friends, a nice breakfast on a lovely, grape-vine covered patio, and all the advice you could possibly need. What I liked most about Omer is that he is always there, quietly receiving the guests, asking what they like to do and see, providing suggestions, backing it all up with an enormous illustrated book all about Capadoccia. On-top of that: you can wash you things and he lets you hang them upstairs, there´s free internet, VERY friendly staff, it´s nice a peaceful, the rooms are cool, there´s TV if you want it, AND you are guaranteed to make new friends! Omer introduced me to a good Turkish friend of his who helped us out with money as we arrived without Turkish lira after the banks had closed, we were also invited to share a tasty traditional dinner in a carpet showroom (no pressure sell!). We also made friends with a wonderful couple from Quebec, Canada and a lovely Turkish lady from Rotterdam, Holland. JUST PERFECT, THANK YOU OMER!

After a miscommunication with our reservation, our hotel contact, Omar, went above and beyond to ensure we had transportation, lodging and then gave us personalized tour of the city with a fabulous restaurant recommendation. While the miscommunication was unfortunate, mistakes happen … and the make-up was more than anyone could ask for!
