This hotel was chosen by our tour company, but what a find. It made a real highlight of our tour of Turkey. A friendly welcome was essential becasue the rooms were so spread out and down cave like passageways it was hard to find your way back to reception the first time! Our room was large with 2 beds and a separate bathroom very much in a cave. It was furnished in C19 style but delightful and with plenty of tea and coffee. Although it writes about it own vegetable and fruit gardens the dinner and breakfast were a little disappointing compared to other places we stayed on our tour. However, it was edible, if a little bland, but perhaps that was because they had so many Japanese visitors. It was in an ideal location to walk into the town and admire the views. The terraces, and lounge were ideal for lingering. This was a different experience and one not to be missed.

This hotel was actually booked by our travel agent so we had no idea what we were in for!. However the moment we got there, we knew that this was a good hotel, Ms Mergul who was at the reception of the hotel was very polite and friendly and even before we checked in asked if we would like a drink or some tea while we sat and she took our documents to check us in.

After checking in, which took all of 2 minutes, we were taken to our room.
The hotel that day was not full we were told and so they had decided to upgrade us to a very nice room partially built into the hillside with an amazing view of the local village. Both the room and the bathroom were nice sizes and nicely furnished with wood paneling and a nice poster bed.

The breakfast was standard, but the staff was willing to go the extra mile to accommodate any requests. We only stayed the one night and next morning checked out with our luggage on the tour bus around Cappadocia. As we had a late night flight, our tour company brought us back to the hotel to wait for 2 hours four our shuttle transfer to the airport.

Ms Mergul, from the hotel must have realised that we were a little tired after a day long exploration and hike across the Red valley. She opened up a room for us to have a shower and even stretch out for a bit while our shuttle arrived. This was one of the rooms on the lower level, not a very big room but a good size to nonetheless with nice decor and a neat and clean bathroom.

The hotel also has a cafe which has descent food and appetizers. Its also got a good location, located just within walking distance from a local wine producer where visitors can pay 5 Euros and get to taste some local wines and off course buy a full bottle if they want.

On the other side of the hotel, there are several small cafes and restaurants which have good food and great views of the nearby mountainside where one can see the openings to the caves.

I would recommend this hotel for its rooms, decor and especially very warm friendly staff. Look for Ms Mergul at front office, she was simply awesome! ;-)

We had planned to be in Cappadocia for just 1 night coupled with 2 days of heavy sight-seeing. The minute we entered the hotel my wife and my first thought was we HAVE to stay 1 more night here.
Our first experience in a cave room. It was fabulous. Was very spacious, with a huge bathroom.
The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a wide array of Turkish jams, eggs, dry fruits and the works. The staff was extreemly friendly, going out of their way to make us comfortable. We had dinner in their restaurant, which was one of our best meal's in Turkey. I would recommend it. Unfortunately we could only be there for 1 night, and had to stay in another hotel for the 2nd night as this one was booked.
