Nothing to fault about the hotel but if I was staying for more than a couple of nights I think I could find a more 'evocative' place to stay - bearing in mind the rich surroundings. However, clean, food pretty good, and difficult to be constructively critically.

The waiters were absolutely rude, could hardly speak a word of English, almost hostile, -- one morning, at breakfast time, they attacked a girl of our group who was taking away a piece of cake for lunch. Unbelievable.
Since our group was charged for extra drinks, after every meal we were asked for money; the problem was we couldn't even finish to eat when some waiter was asking for the money by touching our back. These people don't have a clue what service and professionalism is.
Prices were unbelievably high for Turkey.
Do NOT go there.

Good variety of food. Poor air conditioning - we had to change rooms, as it didn't work, although staff had still booked us in there, in spite of outdoor temp. of 38degrees. Deposit is charged for a second 'key' if you want to keep air conditioning on during the evening. Lots of tour groups. We were picked up from hotel for dawn hot air balloon trip. Fantastic!

Ürgüp in a small charming town well situated in Cappadocia. It is an excellent place to visit Göreme with the open air museum, Uçhisar, Kaymakli (underground town), Ihlara and several others.
Note When choosing Dinler Hotel, be careful there is the 5 star in Ürgüp rather close to the town center but there is another “Dinler Resort” at Nevsehir several km away. The latter is a 4 star and not as attractive.
The Dinler 5 star is a nice Hotel with 172 rooms certainly for an inland place, which you cannot really compare to the Hotels and resorts within the coastal area.

Large reception and lobby, some boutiques wellness centre, outdoor and indoor swimming pool and several other facilities. Of course the outside pool and area was not in use (march 09) as it was still snowing!

The rooms a quite large with all facilities as required for this class hotel: telephone, fridge, satellite television, hairdryer etc.

The main restaurant with open and well furnished buffet of excellent level. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. Note that we are not in an “all-inclusive” environment. If you order a bottle of wine, there is no problem to ask to keep the bottle for the next day or take the remaining with you to your room.

A small minor point is that only 2 elevators are available, which can be inconvenient in the “heavy traffic moments” such as dinner time and morning check out. The bellboys to bring the luggage also use it. But in view of the limited number of levels it is acceptable.

Conclusions:

Positive
+ location at only 500 m from Town centre
+ comfortable large rooms
+ excellent restaurant with friendly service
+ several facilities

Negative
- an extra pair of elevators would have been convenient.

Stayed here two nights with my family on a Gate 1 tour guided bus tour of Turkey. This was very nice hotel. The room was hot when we arrived but opening the windows helped it cool off pretty quickly.

As other reviews pointed out, the food was good with a huge variety. The dinner desserts especially were really nice.

The rooms were good and a good size. The wifi worked quite well. The toilet had a weird pull handle that seemed quite loose, but it worked.

To use the pool or fitness center cost extra. However as most of the guests were with tour groups on a constrained schedule, very few paid to use them.

Right across the street is a small convenience store. It is easy to miss as it isn't a stand alone store. It is more of a small room on the first floor of an apartment building. Just look for the place with ice cream coolers and newspapers outside. It was a convenient place to get water and snacks. The hotel looks isolated, but it is only about a 15 minute walk to the center of town, first you go down the hill and then back up the other side, but is not a difficult walk. When you go up the hill go to the left at the fork in the road and you will start to see stores and then hit a very quant plaza with restaurants, stores, banks, etc...

The hotel could use more elevators since it only had two, and if too many people tried to cram in, the over loaded light would come on and the elevator wouldn't run.

On each floor there is a small sitting area right next to the elevators and each floor has a different large mural painted on the wall.

I stayed the the Dinler as part of a Gate1 tour, and I thought the hotel to be excellent. First of all, let me say the breakfast and dinner buffets are great. The selections are varied and all items I tried were wonderful. The dessert bar at the dinner buffet had some of the prettiest cakes and pastries I have ever seen. The food in the restaurant was the best I have ever had in a hotel. The staff in the restaurant were polite and helpful.

The room was very nice-- a large clean room and a large clean bathroom. You also had a good selection of English speaking channels on the television. While I was there, it snowed and the interior of the hotel was too hot for my taste. However, I opened the windows a little, and the room cooled off nicely.

I thought the hotel staff was nice and helpful enough. The gentleman who owns the gift shop at the hotel was a treat to talk to. He told me about how he learned English, about his jobs, and he added a great deal to my experience at the hotel. He had very good prices on his jewelry, and one of the women on our tour got a pendant at a very good price.

The location of the Dinler is fairly good. You can walk to the center of the village in about 20 minutes, and you are close to the cultural center where the Whirling Dirvishes perform.

I think you will be very pleased if you stay the the Dinler Hotel.

this is our 4th hotel in turkey tour.

the dinner was good, lots of choices. breakfast also nice.

the facilities such as internet, is provided and free.

the only concern is the heating system didnt work properly, they use central heating system and AC as thermal with max 30 degree celcius. at 1st night and 2nd night, the central heating system off at 1 or 2 am, and its freezing, after technician came its works fine, but its annoying to do that in the middle of the night.

other than that, everything is nice
