Yunak is a great hotel. The rooms are luxurious and well maintained. The staff do everything possible to make sure guests enjoy their visit and see the area.
A short walk to the town which has several good restaurants. Yunak's restaurant is also very good.
Do not feel obligated to take the balloon trip. It is "interesting and fun" but not the trip of a lifetime and is very expensive.

The cave hotel was charming, cozy and homey. I have to say the room I stayed in is one that I will definitely remember. There was no wi-fi inside the room, but heck, what would one expect when one is inside a cave?! haha! It was an authentic experience. There's wifi in the hotel lobby (rooms) where one can socialize with fellow travelers. The view from the terrace was great; I saw some sheep grazing nearby. The hotel is also within walking distance of a great restaurant where we had a sumptuous dinner (where I broke open the pot that was used for cooking the stew!). Lastly, the hotel staff deserves special praise for their great service. I had a great stay at Yunak.

This hotel was recommended by a colleague and it was pretty amazing. Beautiful cave rooms built into the side of a mountain. Spacious. Delicious free breakfast buffet. Located in the town of Urgup, so you can walk to many local establishments if you don’t want to eat the pre-fix dinner offered for $25/person. The rooms are spread out, so be prepared to walk and have to climb stairs to get to your room. There is wi-fi, but only centrally located in the reception area. The best thing about the Hotel was the staff, particularly Mr. Abdullah, one of the managers. I emailed him numerous times prior to arriving in Cappadoccia, and he assisted us with airport pick up, group tours (do the blue tour, pass on the red tour unless you want to spend half the day on a bus), bus tickets for an overnight bus to Antalya, and a balloon tour (which we later had to cancel). It’s a little pricey, but we found Cappadoccia to be somewhat hard to navigate on your own so it was worthwhile to have a trusty local contact in the area.
General tip: If you are flying from istanbul, it may be worth it to pay a little more to fly from Ataturk to Nevsehir. We took a cheaper flight from SAW to Kayseri and probably paid more in airport transfers so it wasn’t much of a savings.

This was the best hotel of our recent trip to Greece and Turkey.

Check in was itself an experience. Sat with the manager out on a patio with a beautiful view. He provided drinks, chatted with us about the hotel and the area, and in the process managed to get the appropriate data from us. What I like best about him is that he is fastidious - confirming every detail with us at the end.

The first night no cave rooms were available, so we got a "regular" room. It was still terrific. Nicely appointed. The bathroom was huge. Very clean. Only one, high, window. This is not a hotel for windows, even for the non-cave rooms.

Second night we moved to a cave room, actually a cave suite, near to the top of the cliff. They had given us a choice of low with patio or high without patio and a warning about the clime. They, of course, took care of moving the bags. This was even better than the first room. The bathroom was bigger than bedrooms in some hotels (see photo).

Some nice places to eat at the bottom of the hill. We tried Ziggies. We just ordered several starters, no main course, and it was good. The restaurant is on the second floor. The owner has a small and interesting shop on the first floor, at least interesting to my wife. She liked chatting with the owner.

Breakfast was good. The first day we had to rush off just before they opened so they gave is some containers to load up and run.

No TV. Internet was available for free on an "internet room." These were positives from out point of view. We enjoyed meeting the variety of people from different countries - though the more interesting differences between them was the many different types of devices they were using.

Room Tip: We recommend a higher level cave suite.

Even before the trip, hotel staff Mr. Abdullah had been so helpful to plan and gave me advices, other staff are friendly and kind also. The outlook of the hotel is nice, inside the room is simple, clean, well prepared. Location is convenient, quick to access to most of the sightseeing area. Restaurant inside hotel only provides simple set dinner at night but very good restaurant Ziggy is one minute walk.
We enjoyed the trip to Cappadocia so much, special thanks to Mr. Abdullah.

Room Tip: Higher level got better view of the area.

My wife and I spent 3 days at the Yunak Evleri while exploring the Cappadocia region. This cave hotel is very nice and relaxing. Our room was clean and comfortable with a spacious bathroom. Each room has its own little terrace on which you can relax with a bottle of wine you can get at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. One gentleman carried our bags to our room and refused a tip. He also walked me to a nearby restaurant (Ziggies) to be sure I knew where it was. They had an excellent breakfast in the morning as well. If you have a rental car, they have their own private parking. Urgup makes a good base from which to explore Cappadocia. Highly recommend this hotel.

I had visited Yunak Evleri with my 5 year old daughter, we rented a suit and the room was very spacious and extremely clean. Staying inside a cave is a different experience. If you are not a 5 start classical hotel room experience chaser, Yunak Evleri definetly offers you a unique experience. The location of the hotel is very central, just 300m away from the city center but totally discreet from the crowds. Huseyin Bey and the rest of the staff are trying to do their best to make you feel as you are at home. Although they serve dinners in their restaurants, we only tried it once and preferred to look for local cuisine in the town. I would really recommend you this hotel if you will not need a TV set at your rooms cause they do not have one.
