We chose Esbelli Evi as our cave hotel when we were in Cappadocia. We got upgraded to a suite. This hotel was just amazing. The suite includes a beautifully appointed room, a small kitchen, a gorgeous bathroom and a huge toilet. Not to mentioned a private courtyard. The cave detailing was very impressive. The personal service by everyone who work there including the owner Suha was just so personal. We even got the car hire done by them. I would go there again. For dinner, just walk down to Ziggy's, one of the best meal we had in Turkey.

I am a very picky person when it comes to hotel accomodation and Esbelli evi exceeded all expectations. The location is great, the staff are attentive and friendly. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. From A to Z the experience is unique.

We loved this lovely cave hotel and from the moment we got there manager Miss Nil treated us like royalty---and we are just a family of 4 from MN! Our suite was beautiful with many amenities---laptop computer, large screen tv, reading materials, a stocked (wine, water) refrigerator. Upon our arrival Nil sat us down and suggested we might like a hike in the beautiful countryside. She drew us an extensive and detailed map and sent us away with the hotel's cell phone (!) so we could call their driver to come pick us up when we were finished hiking---they also delivered us there!
The breakfast on the terrace in the morning was more than adequate and the food was just right---the morning service great! The view was refreshing.
I can't say enough about the fabulous service Miss Nil provided. The hotel was delightful in itself---an oasis for these weary travelers!

Its on the expensive side, but the cave rooms, great views from the many terraces, good food and service are worth it. The owner lives in one of the wings and ensures good food and service. He is friendly and helpful. Things are slightly more expensive, but good and stress free.

Esbelli Evi is pure heaven. Luxurious and cultural experience -- friendly, helpful staff -- lots of free perks (outstanding wifi in a cave in central Turkey). We stayed in a "junior suite" which was enormous and beautiful. My favorite was soaking in the big tub with a glass of delicious Cappadocian wine (free bottle in our room). They arranged a taxi drive to see all of the attractions in 2 days, booked our Kapadokya Balloons tour (do this!), and were wonderfully friendly, without being intrusive.

It's worth going to Cappadocia just to stay at Esbelli Evi. We did not want to leave. Peaceful retreat.

P.S.We left our iPod charger and they noticed it, emailed us, and mailed it back to us in the U.S.!

Most of what everyone writes about the Esbelli bore out. We experienced - helpful staff, the best breakfasts in our 3 weeks of travelling, thoughtful common areas - media room w/ flat screen TV and a cupboard filled with movies, laptops for everyone's use, serene picturesque garden areas, washer and dryer and a good location. What was a disappointment and was the reason we left early was our room. We were given a very small cave room situated at the bottom of 2 sets of stairs. We heard everyone come and go, morning and night, as well as the conversations and TV from one of the common area rooms. Only after we moved to another hotel did we learn they had many other types of rooms, quieter and larger. It is a great spot for travelers to get together and share their stories. It has loads of the comforts of home. Just be very selective about your room as sound bounces throughout this novel cave hotel and they are charging a handsome price to stay there. It reminded me a bit of dorm life so we moved to the Sacred House and were happier.

Not much more can be said after reading the other reviews of this truly great hotel. It was simply the best hotel experience we have ever had (in many, many years of travel in Europe and the US. In the six days and nights we stayed at Esbelli, there truly was not one moment of discomfort or displeasure or lack of amenities (except for the missing pool - sorry, Suha!)

Most outstanding in our memory are the staff - the owner, Suha, has gone out of his way to create an environment that answers every conceivable need e.g. the cave rooms with unbelievable showers and a separate, elegant room with 2000 DVDs and a world class audio/video system. (I never saw anyone use it but maybe on those cold winter nights...) The combination of Suha and the manager, Nil, made everything come together. We had our own rental car (which Nil arranged) and she sat with us every morning over our leisurely breakfast to map out our itinerary for the day and arrange for any additional introductions/activities such as the balloon ride or chamber music concerts. Suha was especially helpful with regard to our education in Turkish rug-making. It just seemed that being with them got us plugged into the whole local community, the terrific walkable restaurants, the music scene, authentic shopping etc.

All of the available picture books, wi-fi, PCs,classical music TV channels almost distract one from the overwhelming surroundings that make up Cappadocia! Urgup was the perfect base for exploring this great region with plenty of opportunity to hike and climb to our hearts (and minds) content. What a great history! We shudder to think of what we might have missed had we not chosen Esbelli Evi as our home in this wonderful place!
