“Complete chaos”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

The staff were very impersonal and rushed. They would not stop for even a second to talk to anyone.
The food was ok and easily forgettable. The table was set with a bunch of mezes and a bottle of wine, soda, water etc., before we were seated. The beer kept coming through out the night. Half way into the show, they brought a plate of meat and rice followed by fruit.
We went there on a saturday night and the show was fully booked. They seated us in the far end from where we could not see anything except the top of the heads of the dancers when they were kind enough to move to the middle of the room. For the most part we had to stand to see the show and even then we could only see the dancers from the side since they were always facing the other side. The show itself was so mediocre and boring that we gave up bothering after a few minutes.
The whole feel of the show was more like a night club than a cultural night. They kept trying to pull people into the middle of the stage after every 10 minutes which completely took away from the mood of the show. The belly dancing which was obviously meant to be the highlight of the night felt very cheap and completely non traditional. We dont go to a lot of shows etc., so our standard for good shows is not very high. Even for us the whole show felt very boring and unengaging. We could not wait for the evening to be over so our ride would get there.

“Great food and a good show”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

My family and I went to Yasar Baba to see a "Turkish Night" show due to a recommendation by the owner of the hotel we were staying in. It was a short 5 minute drive from Goreme, and was super easy to find (a load off my mind, because it was the first time I had driven in Turkey, and I wasn't trying to drive any more than necessary in areas I wasn't familiar with).
Very few, if any of the staff spoke English, so we were left confused a few times throughout the night. We had different food than most (still not sure why), and the place we were seated seemed odd (it almost seemed like a table set to hold other people's food).
That said, the food was traditional Turkish, and was delicious. The show was good, but a bit boring sometimes. The very beginning of the show was the whirling dervishes, and I was so bored with them I would have preferred to have just slept through that part. Otherwise, the show was a lot of fun. The crowd got in on the action, and often danced with the performers from the show.
The only negative thing I have to say might be something common to all the shows there... We noticed that little parts of the ceiling were dropping on us throughout the night, and also into our food. Since the show was in a cave, I'm not sure that there was anything that could be done about that. It was slightly irritating, but really didn't take away from the night.
My wife and children had a blast, so even though it wasn't exactly my cup of tea, I would definitely go back if we end up back in Cappadocia.
I don't have another "Turkish Night" location to compare to, but if someone asked whether I'd recommend to a friend, I would definitely recommend it.
