“Hidden Treasure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2012

My sister, our friend and I just returned from a week vacation in Turkey. We flew in from the USA to Istanbal, drove 10hrs to our timeshare in Didym. Before we left the US, my sister reserved and prepaid through AAA for our hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia. Unfortunitely, we did not relize how big Turkey was. We decided to travel another 10 hrs to Cappadocia the day before our 6am balloon ride. Upon arriving in the area it was really hard to find a hotel when you do not speak the langauge. It was starting to get dark and we saw a sign with a bed, so we parked and asked if they had a room. That hoetl was full, but they screamed to Filliz across the sctreet to see if she could accomodate us. She came down stairs and let us in. We told he their were three of us, so she added a cot to the room. The view from the front door and the roof was breathtaking. Filliz was also able to call the hot air balloon company to set up our hotel pick up in the morning. It was close to 7pm and there is a castle close by, she told us to hurry because it closed soon and to travel through the back path. The path was a short cut and worked great. The next morning we had to miss Filliz's breakfast due to the buffet that came with the balloon ride. After the balloon ride, Ismail (Filliz's brother) was able to download and clear my camera pictures on to an SD card for me. That was great. Filliz also called the car rental company and airlines for us with no charge, just a huge smile. The hotel is currently run by three sibblings Filliz, Ismail and their sister whom was in Istanbal. The hjotel used to be their grandmother's home. Felliz gave us a tour of the cave rooms below that are under renivations. We will return in a few years to stay in one of the cave rooms. For the ladies with a lot of hair, the showers have excellent pressure! I would recommend their hotel to anyone.

We stayed at has konak for about one week in aug 2012. It was a very nice experience, the 2 sisters running the place are very friendly, and helped us alot with our one day trips around Cappadokia. Every afternoon they were ready with complimentary coffe/tea and cake- very delicious. We had the room with a private balcony, it had a view we cant imagine that you find better in cappadokia- 1 day the balloons were right outside our window. Uchisar is a pleasant and more relaxing alternative to nearby Göreme.

We can only recommend has konak.

We stayed 4 nights in "Has Konak", an unforgettable hotel:

we had room nr. 4 and 5, each room has a wonderful view to the famous "pigeon valley" and to the "fairy chimneys", traditional decorated rooms, very clean, warm atmosphere,
breakfast was marvelous with numerous kind, prepared with love.
The owners were genuinely hospitable and helpful, they have arranged our transfer from airport to our hotel and back to the airport.
They have also arranged our breathtaking hot air ballooning with a safe company and different interesting tours, to explore the area.
All was very good organized and fantastic.
The hosts were always present to give us tips about points of interest, restaurants, events, history and many more useful information.
All was perfect, we can only recommend "Has Konak" in Uchisar!!!!!!

Room Tip: we had room nr. 4 and 5, fantastic rooms, each room has a wonderful panoramic view

We stayed in Has Konak in August 2012. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and trying to find somewhere to stay. ıt was a really big chance to find Has Konak. The room prices are fair when you compare to other hotels around Uchisar. We were welcomed with a heart on our bed made by the leaf of roses. And also high quality chocolates. The rooms were really clean. The bed were comfortable. The view from the hotel is fantastic. All rooms are located to see the view. On the terrace you can see the Uchisar Castle and all Kapadokia.
Here is a winning choice and highly recomended.

Room Tip: The room with the balcony has a chance to breath the air of capadokia.

We stayed at this hotel for about a week in September 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The sisters who run the hotel are delightful, the breakfast was superb (served with fine china and lovey presentation and fresh everything). Our room overlooked the valley and we had a lovely little balcony where we could sit out and enjoy the views - especially of the hot air balloons in the morning. We hiked in the valleys, took local buses to other little towns, and ate the most delicious pizza too. Our room was spotless with white bead spreads and white towels and the bed was very comfortable. You can sit up on top of the hotel and enjoy the view from there as well. But it really is the family that runs this hotel that make it super special. We miss them. We highly recommend this hotel if you are tired of the touristy spots in Goreme - try Uchisar instead - for a more authentic experience!

Room Tip: Choose the room with the balcony.
