This hotel was fantastic. We were immediately greeted by the day manager, Nil, who was so vibrant, welcoming and warm. We were then upgraded to a suite, because "it's available." The suite was fantastic - sleeping in a cave, but with luxury. The room was spotless and so comfortable, yet retained the charm and history of its origins. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh and we were given such helpful information about how to best spend our time while in Cappadocia. We were there 2 full days, but would have preferred 1 more day to enjoy all this interesting region has to offer.

Staying here was the highlight of our trip. The grounds were amazing, the room beautiful and the service warm and friendly without being obtrusive. No request was too hard. I got sick during our stay and Nil the hotel manager went out of her way to look after me by getting me tea and letting me stay in the room longer to sleep. I can't recommend this place enough. Without doubt one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had.

So, unlike my travel companions, I had not looked up Hezen before getting there and I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY!!!!!! This place is breathtaking!!!!! From the second that we arrived at Hezen, we were warmly greeted. The lobby/reception area was very quaint. The decor is simple but very colourful and this worked well with the rocky environment. The hotel is actually built into the caves, literally with doors added to enclose the rooms. The dining area was beauiful, and there is a lady who makes fresh pastries every day!! Breakfast was the best that I had in Turkey!!! Fresh fruit, perserves etc. The rooms are all unique, minimally decorated and again very colourful and the amenities were great. But the best part of Hezen is the outdoor terrace. We hung out there every night and the views were gorgeous!!! Pretty much 360 degree views of Ortahisar. On a clear night we had views of one of the oldest castles. There are couches and heat lamps and the staff brought blankets for us. There are at least 3 mosques in the area and I love and missed hearing each muezzin doing the call to prayer at night. Very soothing, calming and captivating! Nil and her entire staff made us feel at home. They were very organized and did everything they could to make us comfortable. I was also able to see the sun rise and the moon set at the same time!! Just beautiful!! I've seen the rest of Urgup, and I will go back there just to stay at Hezen. There is no other place to go. Don't even bother looking. I think this would be amazing for couples or even if you are going solo! The pictures don't do it justice, you have to see it to believe it. This is as good as it gets!! Thanks so much Hezen!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are on lower levels, so just take your pick!

The grounds and view from the many terraces were exquisite. The managers and staff went above and beyond our expectations. Each staff member was incredibly informative and provided fantastic insight and recommendations to facilitate our tours and excursions. The breakfast with fresh fruits and delicious cuisine was truly a taste of the best the mediterranean has to offer.

The location is close to the town of urgup and the staff was happy to transport us to dinner each evening.

The cave dwellings were appropriate to the cappadocia region, while infusing a modern sensibility and keen style.

I would highly recommend.

We started our tour through Turkey in Ortahisar. We never met a comparable hotel during the following weeks. The site is unique and very charming. Sounds of rural live are gently wooing our ears instead of steady noise of urban motion. The hotel managers (Mehmet, Nil and Gökhan) have been always well informed about the activities of their inhabitants of the only 10 rooms of their hotel (i.e. of us) to keep them in a feeling like "being at home". Also the erudition and intelligence that lovely staff has been inspiring for the planning of further activities of our stay. People are always essential for the whole impression of a facility like a hotel is! Afterwards, while traveling Turkey across, we made advertisements for Hezen hotel wherever we met like-minded people.
If Hezen Hotel will stay as it is, we will come and visit it with our friends. It doesn't make any sense to enlarge it, but to create as many similar hotels like this.
A key event during our stay was the meeting with Mr.
Thank you very much for all. We have spent 5 very relaxing and inspiring days in that incomparable hotel.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It is off the beaten path which we loved. It has a fantastic view of one of the oldest castles in Cappadocia. It is absolutely charming, beautifully decorated, and the manager and owner of the hotel could not have been more hospitable, and were very helpful in the planning of our sightseeing trips. The breakfast in the morning is excellent and the cookies served in the afternoon with tea are a real treat. We also loved our cave rooms. Staying at this wonderful hotel was a unique experience.

Beautiful, beautiful hotel. It's a bit far from the main tourist drag, but from my perspective, that's a great thing--especially considering how gracious the staff is about arranging (free!) transportation for guests, for restaurants and dining. The location is a bit quiet, it seems mostly residential. There's not a lot of restaurants nearby, but for a short stay, that shouldn't be a huge problem, given that the staff drops and picks you up from the restaurant of your choice. We stayed in room 1 (which is the nicest and biggest, from what I understand) and the design of the room and the general hotel and grounds is just amazing. They hired a superstar designer from Istanbul to do the interiors, and it shows that the place has been considered from an expert eye. Breakfast is delicious and homemade and traditionally Turkish, and the staff is wonderful and honest. The views from the hotel are simply amazing. Downsides: no pool (which would have been welcome, given the heat in the summer and downtime one has in the evening), no room service (would have been nice for dinner/lunch).

Thank you very much for your feedback and review. We are pleased to see that you've enjoyed your stay at Hezen Cave. For restaurants, depending on availability, we try to help our guest as much as possible with our shuttle car to bring them to closeby places. On the other side,,we would also recommend Tandir Restaurant at 5 minutes walking distance from our hotel for a village food dinner with a nice view overlooking the beautiful valley.
We look forward to meeting you again in Cappadocia,
