“Cappadocia and Kismet: a rare beauty”

Staying at Kismet Cave House is like staying at a relative's home. Faruk welcomes you in and truly means it when he says he isn't happy unless you are happy. He organized a wonderful hot air balloon ride for us which is a must do in the area and then helped us map out a day full of adventures. The feeling of knowing you are being well cared for by a complete stranger but one whom you trust isn't too common in many of today's hotels experiences. Faruk will literally walk you to the post office or take a stroll with you through the Rose Valley. Breakfast on the balcony was a perfect way to start the day and tea is always offered when you come in from your activities. The rooms seemed more cave style than actual cave, but Faruk built it himself and there is a reason why Kismet has already made it to the guidebooks despite over a hundred competitors in the town. At Kismet, you are part of the family. Goreme was the ideal place to explore Cappadocia and if you are looking for authentic hospitality, look no further than Kismet.

Room Tip: We had two rooms, one on the main floor and one below. The one below ground was cooler and further o...

We had a great time with the owner, Faruk, and his brother Yusuf. Great people. They were so helpful in getting us organized for our stay. The rooms were very nice, clean, and comfortable. Some of the rooms are built into the rock, some are not. The location is just on the edge of town leaving Göreme going up to Üçhısar. You can very easily walk to the town center where all the restaurants are.

Overall, a very enjoyable hotel.

I travelled to Cappadocia with my wife and 2 children and we had the most delightful stay at Kismet Cave House in Goreme. Mr. Faruk Keles, the owner of this this property is a very people friendly gentleman and for him Kismet Cave House is more than just a business, it is his passion. This is evident in the way he has very artistically decorated his property, and, the Lilac Cave Room that we stayed in was truly beautifully and tastefully done up. Mr. Faruk provided us 5-star attention and personally took us around everywhere (Ulchisar, Kaymakli, Museum's, Valley drives, .....) in his car and made arrangements for a lovely hot-air balloon ride, an adventurous trek in Love Valley and our bus transportation to Antalya. Kismet Cave House is very well located, just 5 minutes walk from central Goreme. Knowing Mr. Faruk was truly a pleasure and I would recommend Kismet Cave House very strongly for an enjoyable family vacation in Cappadocia.

Kismet Cave House is everything you need in a hotel...clean room, comfortable bed, hot water, charming decor, great breakfast and reliable wifi. And Owner Faruk is the icing on the cake! Faruk takes the time to get to know all of his guests, and spends time understanding their sightseeing needs. He speaks English well, and gives you honest advice about tours, etc.

I had booked a night's stay and a balloon flight in Goreme. Traveled from Istanbul and my initial impression was one of disappointment. However on settling in, even though the room I had was not in a cave it was cosy, comfortable and relaxing. Faruk was very helpful and friendly. Hot shower, clean and comfortable bed, lovely room. Two minutes walk from Kapadokya Balloons and Goreme had some great eateries.
I had a wonderful stop before moving onto my whistlestop trip through Anatolya.
My mother and I had a room each.

What a pleasant surprise! This was our first trip to Turkey and the Cappadocia region (mid December 2012). When we first arrived (mom, dad and our two daughters who are 23 and 21), the entrance and room did not quite look like the web site and we were a little concerned. All that faded away as we were warmly greeted by the Kismet Cave House owner, Faruk Keles, who brought us into his cozy office to have Chai, Apple Tea and Turkish Delights. Faruk is a wonderful host whose main interest is to make you feel welcome to his Cave House. He grew up in Gerome so he knows everybody as well as the area around Cappadocia. He arranged for local tours and a Turkish bath for our family. The Cappadocia region has some very wonderful and unique scenery and great hiking, some of which is in walking distance from his cave house. One night he recommended a local restaurant run by a local family. Wow, what a treat! The mother cooks dinner on a wood oven and the bread is out of this world. Faruk joined us for dinner as did the mother and son who own the restaurant. Faruk was our interpreter and it was a magical evening. Breakfast was included and was simple but delicious. Faruk prepared a delicious breakfast of fruits, breads, cheeses, spreads, yogurt and eggs to order every morning, served in the basement of the cave house. The hotel bedrooms are clean and comfortable, but not elegant. If you are looking for a modern elegant establishment, this is not the place. But, if you want to be treated to the warmth and culture of the Cappadocia region, look no further than that offered by Faruk and the Cave House.
