What a pleasant surprise! This was our first trip to Turkey and the Cappadocia region (mid December 2012). When we first arrived (mom, dad and our two daughters who are 23 and 21), the entrance and room did not quite look like the web site and we were a little concerned. All that faded away as we were warmly greeted by the Kismet Cave House owner, Faruk Keles, who brought us into his cozy office to have Chai, Apple Tea and Turkish Delights. Faruk is a wonderful host whose main interest is to make you feel welcome to his Cave House. He grew up in Gerome so he knows everybody as well as the area around Cappadocia. He arranged for local tours and a Turkish bath for our family. The Cappadocia region has some very wonderful and unique scenery and great hiking, some of which is in walking distance from his cave house. One night he recommended a local restaurant run by a local family. Wow, what a treat! The mother cooks dinner on a wood oven and the bread is out of this world. Faruk joined us for dinner as did the mother and son who own the restaurant. Faruk was our interpreter and it was a magical evening. Breakfast was included and was simple but delicious. Faruk prepared a delicious breakfast of fruits, breads, cheeses, spreads, yogurt and eggs to order every morning, served in the basement of the cave house. The hotel bedrooms are clean and comfortable, but not elegant. If you are looking for a modern elegant establishment, this is not the place. But, if you want to be treated to the warmth and culture of the Cappadocia region, look no further than that offered by Faruk and the Cave House.

My husband and I had a fantastic time in Cappadocia thanks to Faruk at Kismet and Samet at Soandos Travel.

Faruk is very helpful and super friendly - it was my husband's birthday while we were staying at Kismet and Faruk sent his son to find some balloons and helped decorate the breakfast room to surprise my husband in the morning. It was very sweet and kind of him. The warmth, cosiness and fantastic service makes a stay at Kismet very special.

Samet is the friendliest and most attentive guide we've had on this trip! We did the Green tour with Samet and enjoyed it so much we did the Red tour with Samet the next day. Having a funny, honest and patient tour with Samet made such a difference! Faruk organised the tours with Soandos for us.

The amazing experience with these 2 businesses inspired me to do my first ever Tripadvisor post! I can't recommend them both enough :)

We booked a double room at Kismet Cave House Hotel for a 3 night trip to Cappadocia. All the process run smoothly through a few e-mails during the weeks prior to the trip. Farouk, our host, offered help to book some loca tours and the hot air balloon flight.

When we arrived we were surprised to see the nicely appointed room, the convenient location and the warmth of our host. Everything had been prepared and were we're off to a great stay in Central Anatolia.

The facts: the hotel is located in a less crowded area and, while easily accessible, it remains quiet and comfortable. Walking around town you'll probably find other properties that may look more impressive on the outside but the experience was all about the coziness of the hotel and, above all, the friendliness and character of Farouk, undoubtedly the heart of this operation.

Kismet is a very family-friendly hotel and it is perfect for the independent traveler too. Breakfast choices were wide and fresh. The heating in the room as well as the water pressure in the shower were very consistent, which must not be taken for granted.

All in all, Kismet was a charming place to stay and, through Farouk, we also found a cultural experience and a lesson in warmth.

Stayed here for 3 nights during my stay in Cappadocia.I missed the tour that I had booked on the first day(with a local agency)as my flight was delayed. Faruk was kind enough to show me around in his car and give me a private tour of all that was planned for that day so that I didn't have to miss out on anything! He recommended some great restaurants which served really good local food and also helped me pick out some pottery at great prices.
Breakfast here was amazing. It felt great to wake up to some fresh gozleme and apple tea.
He was a great host who ensured that I enjoyed every bit of my vacation.Kudos to you Faruk!!Will always remember my lovely stay in Cappadocia.

Staying at Kismet Cave hotel was a great experience for us. Faruk is a wonderful host, full of information about sightseeing and life in Cappadocia. The hotel is beaufitully decorated and our room was cosy, warm (we stayed in winter) and full of beautiful furnitures. The boys enjoyed the Underground City and making snowmen. We hope to come back to this amazing part of Turkey one day.

Kismet Cave House was a real special place for our Cappadocia visit. Just outside Goreme center, this hotel was perfect for us. Great fresh breakfast. Two minute walk to Goreme shops, restaurants, bus station. Faruk, owner and host, is most accommodating. Please spend some time with him if you have the chance. Very kind. Quite witty and fun. And he's a Yul Brynner look-a-like!
