My wife and I just ate an amazing meal cook by a lovely woman, wife and mother: Mushko. She took the time and care to explain every dish and how they were all prepared. everything we ate was local and hand made by Mushko that morning (fresh bread) The meat plates were the most expensive thing on the menu but well worth it for the portion size compared to other similar plates we have had in Turkey. But the food was only the beginning. apart from the lovely view, we met Mushko's husband Ethem and one of their daughters who were warm and welcoming to us. After the meal we stayed and talked with them for another hour as they told us about their life in Goreme and they asked us about ours. We were extremely disappointed to read jjhauj's review of Ocak, we also were brought things we did not ask for, but were clearly asked if we wanted them each time before they were placed on our table, and we were only charged for one of these items (dessert, which was priced on the menu still on the table for reference) Perhaps jjhauj should have gone in search of a McDonalds if they wanted to experience only what they were expecting and nothing more. This was one of the most memorable meals and experiences of our entire trip. Please go and enjoy!
