The area is vast. Different rock formations and landscapes to anywhere else we have visited. Stopping places luckily are all over to look over amazing vistas and many walks (not well signed). Warning for those like me who don't do sensible shoes, please do. Many of these walks are long hard mountainous hikes, also check out the distances, some less fit people were overfaced. Remote, beautiful but still mighty strange.

This area of Turkey is an absolute must. It is out of this world. If you are in Turkey make the effort to visit Capadoccia region. The landscape is volcanic dotted with caves and Troglodyte dwellings. Visit the Goreme open air museum, with small churches and fairy-tale castles. It is a photographers dream.

I have been to Goreme National Park on many trips to Turkey. It is simply not to be missed. It is one of my favorite places on earth. It is the most incredible and unusual and beautiful landscape. I highly recommend staying in the village of Goreme, because walking to many areas of the park is very easy from here. Most of the better hotels in the village can give you simple trail maps which are easy to follow. Hotels also offer guided group walking tours at a very reasonable rate. Just wander and be blown away! Do not miss Love Valley! lol. You will understand why!

The place is incredible, I can't imagine there is such a place like this anywhere else. Mabe Petra reminds me a bit of the spirit you find here specially in the caves. In this park to truly appreciate it's magnificence you have to take the balloon trip that will fly you through the park.
We LOVED it.

Highly recommended.
