It is really interesting for those who are interested in ancient history. If you are going to take a guided tour, for example a grren one, it is not necessary to visit it. Better in sunset time

Cappadocia (Land of Horses) although Cappadocia is more popular by its hot air baloons it has been known as Land of Horses. If you decide to stay in Taskonaklar Boutique Hotel you will experience the beauty of floating 50+ hot air baloons right infront of you (or even right over your head) accompanied by a magnificient sunrise. But if you want the experience the original meaning of the place there horse farms accomodating wild Cappadocia horses not to be missed.

It is an exciting experience for those that are able to hike around the area. Lots of hidden treasures for the heritage/archaeological/geology minded person...or just a good place to relax and enjoy the view. I didn't care for all the motorized vehicles...destroyed the silence.

The caves were fascinating. Art & history from the Byzantines to the Ottomans. The views from the caves are fantastic as well as the drawings. Tribes passed through this area. Some hid and some changed the sculpture. Beautiful ceiling drawings. We loved it!

This experience should be at the top of anyone's list for travel in Turkey. I visited here for a few days on my own and had a wonderful time. People are very welcoming and the tours of the caves are small and intimate allowing for sociable exchanges. The landscape and caves are extraordinary and a unique wonder of the world. I found the area very tourist friendly with the hotels able to book tours and give advice about activities. The dervish event is very interesting, but one should be prepared for a meditative event and not a "whirling dervish" show as ones sees in Egypt.
