“Excellent in Every Way”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

I stayed here for two nights in November. The property and service were amazing. Upon arrival, we were given an orientation to the area by one of the property managers (Onul.). Lots of great information and he made us feel at home. The hotel is extremely clean and very cool to see. I enjoyed sipping wine and relaxing in their restaurant/lounge and patio. After four days of running around Istanbul, this was a nice contrast. We took daytime tours that were recommended and organized by the hotel, and just enjoyed the hotel in the evenings. The staff anticipated our every need been though not all spoke English well. I really appreciated their willingness to figure out what I needed. The rate was quite reasonable and came with breakfast and wifi in their common areas. I'm picky and could find no faults with this property. Thanks for an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.

We found this hotel to be charming and unique. We admired the attention to detail, and everyone on staff was pleasant and eager to be of assistance. We loved exploring the different vantage points -- there are many places to see the town and the country. (Be sure to wake up early to see the many balloons pass by overhead.) We also enjoyed relaxing in the restaurant area, which is open all day to guests. The breakfasts were outstanding, and we had dinner there once, and it was very good too. And don't miss out on the hotel's Turkish bath -- it was a great way to end the trip, and well worth the price.

What an enchanting beauty!! The hotel is decorated expertly to fit its unique surroundings. We enjoyed the hotel restaurant both for breakfast and dinner. I also relished the Turkish Bath. We all enjoyed the hotel tour seeing and experiencing much more than we ever could on our own. The hotel service was way beyond what is hotel norm. It was the hotel who discovered our flight out was cancelled and it was the hotel also who arranged another flight and subsequent very early am airport shuttle for us. Before the shuttle came to pick us up at 4:45 am the night receptionist handed us sandwiches and drinks to take with us. Staff was so gracious despite having to go home late, do extra work or be awake in the early, early morning because of us. We would have been in trouble had you not helped us. Thank you sooo much!

Room Tip: Our room for 4 was enchanting! I don't think one could go wrong with any of the rooms!

This hotel is a little gem - full of character, uniquely designed, fantastic ambience, helpful and non-obtrusive staff, and really a place like nothing else (at least outside Cappadocia as there are other hotels in this area that will offer some or most of the same).

A lot has been written about this hotel so no need to add much more. Two things though; take time to visit their homepage and check out the rooms before you make your booking. They are very different, and in particular some of those that are built into caves may not be to everyones liking. My room was no. 11 and if you suffer from claustrophobia it may not be for you as it is small and there is only one way out via a long and narrow corridor. Second thing to add, is that you will not regret booking this hotel, it really is that outstanding and special.

Seriously, it's hard to imagine what could have made our stay here more perfect. Being budget conscious and not a couple, my friend and I chose the a small twin room (room 11). It was indeed small, but well appointed and charming. There are a range of rooms here and several seemed quite palatial. Since our room was small, we spent our lounging time in the lovely patios and paroles enjoying the view. The food was quite good and reasonably priced. After the first night in town, we opted to have dinner in the comfort of the hotel. Everyone working at the hotel was was friendly and helpful. If you're watching your budget, get the smallest room here and enjoy the amenities of the hotel at large.

We stayed at the wonderful Kelebek Hotel in July 2013. All the staff were excellent including Ali the manager who was often wandering around the place checking all the little details. The service was without fault, right down to finding and posting on a lost Ipod we left behind. Beyond the call of duty. The food was great and the vista from the restaurant area quite stunning. We felt special all the time we were there and the advice on what to do in the area was spot on. We travelled with our 3 young kids (6, 8 & 12) and they were made very welcome, everyone got to know them and looked after them. The rooms are very interesting, all very different. Try and do the organic breakfast if it is still happening. One of the best places we have ever stayed.

Everything is outstanding at his unique hotel. Service, breakfast, location, rooms just top notch. The free 'Kings Breakfast trip' added value to the experience. Ali, the owner, took a small group to his rural farmhouse for an organic breakfast and shared light on what is was like growing up in the area. I think he said there would be a small charge for this option next year but the money will be going towards a project restoring pigeons to the area. Ballooning was the highlight.
