“Loved it, we even extended our stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

Extremely positive experience in this hotel that we even decided to extend our stay (they even upgraded us since it was not busy season). Staff is very friendly, the hotel manager provides a very personalized service to guests that it makes you feel that you are the only guest in the hotel, he even drove us to various attractions close to the hotel at no cost and provided really useful advice in regards to where we should go and how much we should pay for tour guides & transportation. There is a really comfortable common area with internet where coffee, tea and water are complementary. Breakfast is delicious, very abundant and healthy. Rooms are really nice, warm and beds are very comfortable. Price is reasonable for the service and comfort you receive. I would definitely go back to the same hotel!

The staff understands hospitality. The hotel does not five star frills but has quality service. Manager Hassan is made for this business, he is courteous helpful and quite knowledgeable. The tour companies they deal with are very professional too. The breakfast is a bit over rated though , the reviews that rave about this breakfast are slightly exaggerated.

Just got home from a 20 day Turkey trip (no tour, just us, a retired couple, taking the normal buses) and want to rave about Kelebek Hotel in Goreme. We traveled in March, 2013, which was great as we had very few tourists to contend with. Kelebek's manager was excellent, providing us with information and dropping us off at the local Open Air Museum and at a trailhead. The fairy chimney room was delightful. We highly recommend Kelebek.

It was my mistake but I booked the wrong month so when we arrived, they had no available for the 2 nights I needed. After some finagling, they ended up putting us in a Junior suite for a night, right next to the pool, and then we moved over to the adjacent Sultan Cave Suites for the next night, in a Suite. The location was hard to find with our rental car. After circling the mountainside, we ended up parking at the rear entrance, which required walking up many flights of steps to get to the other side where the reception and actual parking was. The hotel is very cool, like an MC Escher drawing, with steps that go up and down and around the different room levels. Being next to the pool was perfect as I spent many hours wading and lounging. The view over Goreme is also breathtaking, especially when all the hot air balloons are out at 6am with the sunrise. Breakfast at hotel was delicious with so many varieties of patries and pancakes and cheeses. Dinner was also delicious on the restaurant terrace. My favorite part of the room itself was the custom furniture, wooden desks and sink counters.

This wonderful hotel has fabulous cave rooms, heated bathroom floors, open fire, AMAZING breakfasts in the beautifully appointed dining area, overlooking Goreme. Wonderful ambience sitting having a glass of local wine watching the sun set, after a hard day's trek up Rose Valley, or carpet shopping at Sultan Carpets, see Semsi for a fabulous experience! Fatima looked after us and was delightful. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this superior hotel to our friends and family

Room Tip: All were superior, we stayed in 103, the Turkish bath, massage and pampering was great, a wonderful...

What a great hotel! So authentic. Very laid back with an atmosphere that makes all the guests friendly with each other. Tours were excellent. Everything was as promised. Very good breakfast. We had to leave absurdly early one morning and they accommodated us with breakfast. It is high on a hill but the walk into town is no big deal. However, Gerome is not the culinary Capitol of Turkey. But there were cute cafes where you could hang out. The hotel had good food as did the sister hotel, Sultan Suites, next door. Sultan Suites looked nicer and was also very affordable. We easily walked to the Gerome Open Air Museum and toured it on our own with the audio tour. We had room #14 which was as advertised but tiny. The door is on a stairway so it did take some agility to balance and work the rustic padlock. Pay a bit more and get a bigger room. The co-Ed Hamam was fantastic! My husband vowed not to do it but loved it.

The complex, hotel, and ambiance were exactly what we hoped they'd be in a cave suite hotel. The Kelebek was in a perfect location, had beautiful views of Cappadocia, and was very well-managed. The management was helpful, gave us overviews of the area, set up a balloon ride, and were very accommodating. Highly recommended.
