A beautiful hotel in a very convenient place,a five minutes walk from the center of picturesque Goreme. All rooms are quite big and very well furnished but some are cave- like whereas some have a beautiful view. When I complained the staff was quick to give me another room, but still it could not compete with the exceptional rooms my friends were given even though we were paying the same amount for accommodation.

Our second leg of our trip to Turkey brought us to Goreme for a visit of Cappadocia. We were looking to staying in a cave hotel room at Cappadocia Cave Suites.

The hotel is set in on hill overlooking the scenic Goreme/Cappadocia area. Our Room 107, was a nice spacious suite with a good sized bathroom in front, a little sink area with a refrigerator and a nice-size bedroom with a sitting area. Each room has its own Wi-Fi router providing a strong complementary Wi-Fi connection.

The nice complimentary breakfast, consisting of cooked to order eggs and a nice spread of warm foods, breads, cheeses, fruits, juices, coffees and teas is served in the restaurant in the lower level. (yelp.com/biz_photos/capp…) (yelp.com/biz_photos/capp…)

Three blocks down the hill from the hotel is the main street where restaurants, shopping and Turkish baths are located. Also, two blocks up the hill from the hotel is a park/lookout area providing a beautiful panoramic view of the Goreme area and offers a great spot to view the sunset.

The office staff assisted us with hot air balloon ride bookings and printing boarding passes for our next leg of our trip.

Overall, we had a great stay at Cappadocia Cave Suites. A unique beautiful stay in a cave hotel was a memorable experience. Friendly and helpful hotel staff.

Visiting Cappadocia is like going through the looking glass. The caves the ancients carved out for themselves and the frescoes they painted are simply magical. Living in Cappadocia Cave Suites is a little like living in those very caves - except it is all very modern and well appointed. The staff are all very warm and friendly (like most of Turkey), but it was Shafak, who also was our guide on one of our tours that really made our trip. He was knowledgeable, chatty, amusing ... gave us a wonderful insight into an ancient civilization

It's been a while since my wife and I stayed at this hotel. Things can change, but not the location. To get to Cappadocia, you need to fly into Turkey's interior. It is a land of soft white rock, shaped, smoothed, and rounded by eons of weather.

The hotel is exceptional in every regard. Sculpted out of the rock, in a manner similar to the many nearby chapels sculpted out of the rock by 3rd Century Christian heretics and hermites. And near it, a short walk away, is a small town which you can wander into. We did and ended out buying a small, worn but beautiful throw rug, which rests on the floor of our bedroom.

We hiked in the surrounding area on eons old shepherds trails. And one morning woke up as the sun, fiery and unforgiving, rose over the plain, to see the glow of gas burners in the distance lifting big, bulbous hot air balloons into the Turkish dawn. It was thrilling.

This is a wonderful hotel, built right into the caves that surround Goreme. IT is a little up the hill from the main part of the town, and pretty quiet. The center of the town itself is teeming with tourists, souvenir shops, travel agencies, tour buses - fairly cluttered and chaotic. But once you get to the hotel (and even in front of it) the whole scene changes and it is amazing. My husband and I went with two other friends; they wanted a twin bedded room and were given one with an internal staircase so practically one bedroom above the other. Ours had a large queen size bed and was all on one level. I would have loved to see other rooms as well, as they are all completely different and the result of very creative development within the rock structure. They don't have windows as such since they are actually in the rock, and we took along two small fans, but they had one for us in the room. In May it wasn't too hot, but later in the year this would make more of a difference than it did to us.
There are sitting areas all over the place, mostly on different levels and some seem to be right outside some of the rooms, so you might feel like you were intruding if that wasn't your room. No signs anywhere telling you this, just a feeling I had. But there were lots of areas where one didn't feel they belonged to a certain room. We took our drinks to one of these areas and had a delightful time watching the sunset.
It's a hard hotel to describe because the setting is so totally unique and unlike anything else I've ever seen - you just have to be there to believe it.
Olive F was right about the hard lumps that served as pillows, and the lighting in the bathroom was very dim. Better lighting to read in bed by would have been nice.
Nice breakfast buffet, and we ate outside on their balcony. Also ate dinner there three nights and it was OK but not fabulous. They do have a wine list which a lot of restaurants in Turkey don't allow.
I would absolutely stay here again - it was unforgettable. And then I'd just forget about the pillow and dim lighting and revel in the uniqueness of the site!

Room Tip: This is hard, because each room is so unique- I was using crutches after recent foot surgery and our...

I struggled with a 3 or 4. Went with 4 even though negative interactions with one employee.

The good: The location was fantastic. We walked to the open air museum, had amazing views of the balloon launch and had access to multiple hiking trails. Breakfast was also very good. I also thought the decor was cute.

The bad: The shuttle service (booked by hotel) from airport left over an hour after out flight landed with no explanation. Every other transport option left very timely. We just sat in parking lot.
I thought the overall helpfulness of a certain desk staff was very poor. His only suggestion for things to do were the tours which had already departed. When we paid for the room. He said my credit card was declined and needed to call my bank. I went through the hassle of calling and my bank said the they never even received the transaction. Sure enough it worked fine the second time. We also booked our airport shuttle through him. That evening we were waiting at hotel with our bags and the shuttle was about ten minutes past due. I went inside to confirm he completely ignored me for about 5 minutes..when the GM (helpful/friendly) assisted and went to confirm he acted like he had never seen me before (I'd interacted with him three times that day!).
Tip: We are a young active couple who didn't want to be restricted to the day tour which I've heard is tailored to older people/children (don't give into pressure to do the tour). We easily found other more tailored options than the hotel provided plus we got to avoid the large crowds (because we timed things differently we had open air museum and underground city to ourselves) and saved $$.

Goreme is amazing and can't wait to go back.

A fantastic hotel in a picturesque setting. Our cave suite was neat with a balcony overlooking the town (#107) for a glorious view.
Breakfast buffet selection was good. You can have an omelette if you wish which was very good. We also had dinner at the hotel a couple of evenings. The first time there was a lovely buffet selection but we opted for the a la carte menu which was good. The second time, we were looking forward to the buffet, but it was not available, even though it was still advertised on their special board. The patio in the restaurant was great with a nice view and we had breakfast there a couple of times and also a drink in the evening.
You can book tours directly with the hotel when you arrive which is very convenient.
We did the hot air balloon experience which was truly amazing. I highly recommend this. A bit expensive but well worth doing.
We did the green tour with Salak, who is the hotel's own tour guide. There was only 5 of us on the tour, so it was very personal. ...just great. Salak was very knowledgable and interesting. He really knew his stuff. Excellent and a job well done.
The red tour was done by a private company and the tour guide was again excellent.
We also went to the Turkish night and we were both disappointed. We were provided with nice hors d'oeurves and as much alcohol as we wanted. As we had just eaten and already had a couple of drinks, we didn't really eat ot drink much more. The dancers were a bit amateurish, although the belly dancer was ok. They also had a "dance intermission" which started with Strauss music. Not very Turkish I'm afraid.
