The Goreme Inn is a recently built hotel located only 5 walking minutes from restaurants and shops.
We booked our rooms and transfers to/from hotel-airport directly with the hotel via email. Best rate and efficient communication.
Rooms are very nice, well decorated and spacious, confortable beds;
Spacious bathrooms with excellent shower, big towels but toiletry items are low end, no tissues or shower cap;
Pillows are too high and hard and since there are four of them, it would be nice to have a choice;
Lighting in the room: coming from 2 niches in the wall and just one bedside lamp, not enough light for reading;
Lighting in the bathroom: one light is above the door, which is directly behind the sink/mirror, and one light above the sink is very weak;
TV channels are mainly Turkish and it is difficult to deal with 2 remote controls and find international channels
Free Wi-Fi but connection is very weak (room 302)
This can be improved!
The two girls in charge don’t seem to have things under control or attention to detail. On one day they will forget the yogurt, the next day napkins were missing (all holders were empty). There is only one kind of bread and the different biscuits and cakes were not too fresh. In a land so rich in fruits, it would be nice to have fresh orange juice, instead of the different packaged concentrated juices. Coffee was bad and the coffeepot was not refilled once it was empty. We also had to ask for milk. In a small hotel with only 15 rooms I would expect good quality of fresh and dried fruits, and instead of trays of packaged butter, jellies, margarine and different spreads (like those you get on a plane) some good homemade products. Also the marmalade jars did not have any indication of what they were. Breakfast should start at 7.00 am instead of 8.00 am and last but not least the 2 girls in charge should bind their long hair for work.
Overall our 4 days stay was good. A small restaurant or bar would add value to the Inn if you don’t feel like going out for dinner after a long day exploring the region.
Mr. Onur Aydin at the reception desk was very friendly but too “pushy” trying to sell hot air balloon and other tours arrangements.
I would stay here again and would recommend it to those who don’t want to stay in a cave.
