“Delicious food, hospitable hosts, and great ambience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

This restauarant is a gem in Goreme -- make reservations as soon as you arrive in town to guarantee a table. Very cute ambience, located inside a small cave and featuring only a few tables, some of which require you to sit on cushions on the floor (or lay flat after eating too much!). The best parts, however, are the chef and his family, who wait on you like you are old friends, and of course the food. Don't miss the lamb main dish, which was super tender and delicious and came atop an amazing eggplant purée with rice on the side. We also liked the eggplant meze. We ordered a medium meze dish and one main dish for two and were completely stuffed afterward. Go here!!!

“Top food by Topdeck”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

This restaurant is the "gem" of Goreme. Situated a little off the beaten track, you just have to ask any local how to get there as it is well-known. We were introduced to "Topdeck", yes the owner and chef is called that, by our hotel owner. Luckily, it was not the high season so we were able to get a table at short notice, but we have been advised that bookings are usually essential. This restaurant is set in true "cave-house" style s and intimate as there are only 10 tables. Entering the restaurant, the delicious aromas emanating from the tiny open kitchen, staffed by Topdeck and his wife, would tempt even the most reluctant diner. We were greeted warmly and service was impeccable. We took the advice of locals Topdeck to "bring us food". What followed was the most exquisite dining experience as we ate our way through some of the best Turkish food we have had not only in Turkey, but anywhere in the world. Prices are extremely reasonable and the restaurant is a great example of Turkish (particularly Cappadocian) hospitality and we would recommend that you do not leave this experience off your list when next you are in Goreme. In fact, it is worth a trip to Goreme just to visit the Topdeck restaurant.

“Excellent food, friendly service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

The first time I used Lonely Planet restaurant recommendations and it was right. Cosy place, no terrace but very friendly and personal service. Food was delicious, price - reasonable. Topdeck was the top choice restaurant in Goreme for my teenage son. Reservations are really needed - the place is not big.

“Delicious hospitality.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

Arriving at Topdeck Restaurant, where we were told it was best to make reservations, we were welcomed like beloved, long lost relatives who were eagerly expected. The service didn't feel like service--it felt like the hospitality of warm, charming hosts whose sole objective was to make sure we were happy. We were invited into the kitchen to see, taste, and smell the menu before deciding what we would have. The setting was classic Göreme...a cave and stone cozy womb of a place, beautifully decorated and alive with people enjoying themselves with meals prepared with culinary excellence.
