We discovered this small restaurant through Trip Advisor.

The food is amazing. The staff of this family restaurant is super friendly and attentive. We have been eating there every night during our stay in Goreme. The mezze are delicious.

Reservation required.

Our favourite restaurant in Turkey.

I was in Turkey (Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus/Selcuk, and Pamukkale) for 10 days, and this was hands down one of the best, if not THE best meal I had while there.

First of all, the food was soulful, delicious, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The style is more rustic but don't be fooled into thinking this isn't artfully prepared. The chef pulls out recipes from Ottoman days --we had a fall off the bone, scrumptious lamb rib stew with rice that I still dream about. The meze platter was memorable, with stuffed cabbage and fantastic grilled eggplant dips.

The atmosphere is homey with several tables on the floor, which is perfect because we ate so much we needed to lie down to recover. It's inviting and unique, like being in someone's living room without being too cozy.

Finally, there's the "staff," which is the chef's family. He has two very chatty daughters who grew up between Turkey and South Africa who are extremely friendly and attentive. They are knowledgeable about the menu and good about estimating how much food you need to order. The chef came over several time during our meal to make sure we had everything we needed and were happy with the meal. Although we came on the later side and stayed for awhile, we weren't pressured to leave. They wanted us to stay and enjoy our meal.

Finally, the chef offers cooking lessons. Had we stayed longer, I would have happily taken these AND eaten there as many times as I could. We didn't make a reservation and barely got in. Make a reservation so you don't miss out!

We were recommended by our hotel staff and made the reservation, it was really necessary, since it was a really small restaurant with only about 8 tables. The food was good, typical Turkish cuisine.

Our meal consisted of an excellent vegetarian Wedding Soup, a dinner platter of nicely seasoned and well presented vegetarian mezis that included: stuffed eggplant, roasted eggplant, humus, stuffed cabbage, zucchini pancakes, yoghurt, cheese Borekis, beans, spicy tomatoes, and fresh bread. A nice local white wine was an added touch to make this our best meal in Goreme. The service was excellently provided by the owner Mustafa, his wife and his teenage daughter who answered our questions and made sure we were satisfied.

Authentic Turkish food. In a cave! Prices cheaper but it was the value that we loved. Family run business. Turkish dad, the chef. Wife is from Afrikaan from South Africa. 2 lovely, hardworking girls age 12 and 17. Menu choices not great but you get good food. Must book in advance. Close on Tuesdays. Only open for dinner. We have been telling everyone we meet here to go there *chuckles*. Finding it is like a hunt but well worth it.
