“Fine choice for a stay in Goreme”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2014

We stayed at the Stone House Cave Hotel during our visit to Cappadocia at the end of April, 2014. The staff booked our balloon trip with Turkiye balloon and arranged for transport to and from the airport. Our room was large and comfortable enough. The hotel is right by the center of town where you can buy a meal or tourist souvenirs. The one negative in my mind is the shower - there is no shower curtain and it goes over a small hot tub that takes awhile to fill due to low water pressure. Without a curtain you have to work at keeping the water from getting all over. Also, I felt the bathroom wall near the shower smelled a little moldy (I am very allergic to mold - your average person would not notice!). Leaving the small window over the hottub open to get fresh air from the outside prevented any problems, and our room was comfortable enough. Breakfast was ok, not great, but for a touristy town, I think this hotel is fine. I would probably stay here again if I were to visit Cappadocia again. The location is short walk from a great hike on the opposite side of the road frm Goreme Open Air Museaum. Go on the hike an d you'll discover small caves that have frescoes of religious figures from so long ago. It's really cool!

My wife and I stayed here, thanks to a booking arranged for us by the Turkey Travel Centre, the hotel was delightfully comfortable, the reception staff were very welcoming, the rooms spacious, warm (very necessary) and comfortable. The Hotel is new constructed in the Caravan Serai style with a lovely sunny courtyard to sit and wait for the next event. Goreme is a beautiful holiday place full of exciting things to see and do, and this hotel is conveniently located near the town's centre with restaurants and shops within strolling distance. It also has a restaurant of its own, and though the food is slightly more expensive than others places nearby, the location at the top of the hotel with a terrace overlooking the region, made it a very pleasant place to be. At the time the restaurant was not licensed, I imagine this will change, and that will be a good thing. Max and Karen.

My girlfriend and I stayed here in early April for just two nights while we visited Goreme and the surrounding area. The Stone House was a perfect base of operations for us. Located near the top of one of the main streets the hotel was ideally located in a quiet but equally convenient neighbourhood with everything within a short walking distance. Our room was located on the main floor and off to the corner of the courtyard. From here we felt like we we had total privacy and lots of space to ourselves. The room was wonderful and spacious with a large bathroom, small desk and nice couch and table. Our only issue was with the toilet which seemed to want to run after we flushed it. It was a minor quibble and by no means a deal breaker. With some gentle fidgeting we seemed to have it figured out by the time we left anyways. The front desk staff was fantastic and assisted us nicely with our choice of tours while there. They were also very accommodating with our travel plans beyond that, allowing us to hang out and use the facilities hours after our check-out while we waited for an evening bus out of town. All said, it was a wonderful stay and a hotel highly worth checking out if you want to see Cappadocia.

I really recommend this hotel for people visiting Capadoccia. It is a very nice atmosphere and all people there are specially friendly. They pay special attention on details and also are always ready to help with everything.
The rooms are large and very well equipped.

Comfortable room. Nice view of goreme valley. Very helpful and welcoming people at the reception. Breakfast was tasty. We had a very relaxing and romantic stay. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to people that are visiting Cappadocia.
