We went to the Cafe after seeing the 'Competition winning lentil soup' sign and it didn't disappoint.

We ended up having the mezze plate plus a kofte sandwich as well. The mezze plate was very good , of the 9 dishes included only 1 failed to impress. The sandwich was also very good we were so full that we did not order any dessert Unfortunately. On top of this we had 2 sahlep's which were very nice and a large bottle of water for 41 tl, which may sound expensive but for the amount and quality of food, we were very happy to pay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we came back the following day to try the coffee and gozleme (sweet version), definitely the best coffee I have had in turkey.

Would definitely go back again.

Had dinner here last night, after not being able to get a table at Topdeck. Safak was virtually empty, but not because their food sucked. We ordered the mezze platter, which was quite good. My husband ordered the gozleme special and I had a kofte sandwich. The food was good, but what was even better were the beverages. We had coffee and sahlep. The coffee was advertised as the best coffee in town. It really was good coffee compared to the instant Nescafé you're given everywhere else in Turkey if you order anything besides the traditional Turkish. We also had the sahlep to go. It was delicious, even though I could tell it was made from a powder mix. What I liked about it was the hint of coconut, which I never before tasted in sahlep. The service was very friendly, although not as friendly to us as they were to the reviewer before me. They had free wi-fi, which was nice. All in all, a nice dining experience.
