“Exceptional customer service and great staff!!”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

We enjoyed a lot our time at the Cave Hotel Saksagan. The staff were very friendly and Numan, the manager , gave us great tips on what to visit around Goreme. He knows everything there is to know and is always ready to help.

The Hotel has a good location considering that the distances to reach everything in Goreme are short. We stayed in a standard room which had everything we needed to feel comfortable

THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO THE STAFF AND NUMAN, FOR YOUR HOSPITABILITY!!!

I hope we meet again soon elsewhere in the world or in Spain

Alberto y Nuria.

I arrived late due to flight delay, the Manager name Nouman used is vehicle, to chase my tour groups who even gave him wrong meeting point. He kept calling until, they found another group I joined. Wifi is available at the reception and good enough for me to make phone call.
I will highly recommended this place because of customer service, location, best view from terrace and bedroom window. Breakfast buffet was great also.

The staff ere never sleep and bend over backwards to make your stay incredible. The rooms are quaint and decorated with Turkish rugs. Remember that this hotel is a cave so the door frames in the rooms are sometimes short. Watch your head. The beds were very comfortable! The bedding was so heavy and plush! Breakfast is included and its awesome traditional Turkish breakfast (cheese, olives, tomato, cucumber, bread, pastry, honey...) and table service with tea or coffee. The manager told us where to go, what to see, where to eat, arranged laundry service, booked our excursions, drove us to a hiking trail entrance so we could hike out without our rental car stuck far away, told us about a secret underground city- it was amazing! The Turkish hospitality is unbelievable, but this service was truly a cut above! There is always someone on site. Highly recommend!!!!

Staying in cave hotel Saksagan is quite convenient. From the hotel, just 3 min walk to the bus station, 20 min walk to the open museum and there are several good balloon companies nearby. In front of the hotel, there is a good Turkish restaurant with fine atmosphere.

We stayed in a cave room, even the room is a little bit small, but it is beautifully decorated in Turkish style. I love the colorful wall hanging and carpet. The beds are quite comfortable. But since the rooms are close, so sometimes when people talking loudly outside, it may disturb.
When we took a rest in the lobby, the friendly staffs always greet us and offer us some drinks.
The garden is lovely, you can enjoy the breakfast with a good natural view.

Numan, the host of the cave hotel, gave us a lot useful advices for the plan in Cappadocia, and you can just ask him to book the one-day tour and the balloon fly. He is a nice and interesting guy, talking with him was such a great joy, even sometimes he is busy as he is a hard working person. Our stay was short; we don’t have too much time for all the tours and activities. So Numan drove us to visit some places, which helped us save a lot of time and money, and of course left us an unforgettable memory. My friend and I enjoy the time spend with him. We love Cappadocia; we passed a wonderful time in Saksagan hotel and this beautiful land.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cave Hotel Saksagan. It was our second trip to Goreme and the manager did a nice job of recommending great "off the beaten path" side trips for us. We enjoyed the hotel, the beds were firm and comfortable and the view in the morning was amazing. We had a big drive ahead of us on our last day, but we stayed later to enjoy their breakfast. It is a typical Turkish breakfast, but everything is well-made, fresh, and delicious. We do wish that they served breakfast earlier than 8 AM.
It is an older hotel and there are some clunky features, but everything is clean and well maintained.

My friend and I, we just came back from Turkey last week (April2014). i ask Numan who is hotel manager for airport transfer and i get a quick response. when we reach the hotel at late night, he still waiting for us and welcome us nicely. Moreover the location of this hotel is great. In early morning you can see the balloon around the town and at night you will see beautiful view from other hotels' light. He took a very good care of his customer all the trip.. ^^ thank you

Owner is a really nice guy who speaks English perfectly (im embarrassed by my turkish!) and has a great knowledge of the local area.
Breakfast is a little basic but what I have come to expect in turkey.

Cave Hotel SAKSAGAN is an old cave Cappadocian house turned into an inn in 1983 and restorated in 2002. At the moment it is a small boutique hotel with 12 en-suite rooms that offer you history, nature and culture altogether and is ready to become your own home in Göreme. Rooms are located within fairy-chimneys and carved into rocks. All the rooms are clean, spacious, and decorated in the Ottoman Style by owner Osman Atak. “Although it wasn’t easy to work in the fairy-chimneys, because they are very tough, we achieved to set up the rooms and bathrooms into the fairy-chimneys with the help of modern devices” says Mr. Osman. Cave Hotel SAKSAGAN has a wonderful garden with the smells of hundreds of different flowers. The hotel is also known as “Garden of Piraye Hanım” by Turkish people after taking part in the common film series “Asmali Konak”. Breakfast in Cave Hotel SAKSAGAN is served either on the terrace, with its magical Göreme view, or in the garden accompanied with birds in songs. Special dinner parties or BBQ can be arranged on request. The hotel has 24 hours reception and provides hospitality at its best. ... more   less
