The owner of the hotel is very kind.
Although we decided to go to goreme suddenly
and thus we did not prepare for transportation from Kayseri Air Port to the hotel,
the owner arranged the micro bus for the move when we reserved a room on the phone.
In addition, the owner took us to the Goreme Open Air Museum by car and
introduced a reasonable one-day tour around Cappadocia.
Of course, the rooms in the hotel are all cave rooms, which excited us.
Also, the fee of stay is cheep (for example, 80 TL for one twin room)
and you can ask the owner to wash your clothes.
I strongly recommend this hotel.
However, the hotel did not put a shampoo in the room,
therefore, you had better bring your shampoo.
(A towel and a soap are prepared.)

From the moment we arrived at Elif Star Caves, we were made to feel welcome. Mustafa carried our (heavy) cases up to the rooms and let us choose the room we liked best. He was extremely helpful pointing out sites to see, walks to do through the beautiful landscape and restaurants to eat at. The breakfast provided in the mornings was superb, and easily the best we had in Turkey (Thanks Hassan). Our cave room was quaint and nice, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was a good size. The centre of town was a short walk away (less than 5 minutes). The best part of Elif Star was the beautiful view from the common area, where you could sit and relax for days. We only spent 2 nights at Elif Star but wished we'd stayed much longer.

This hotel was so incredible! Built right into the mountain, rooms are all different and nicely decorated - very charming. The beds were really comfortable and the room was a good size. The view was amazing (we were on the last floor). There is no elevator, so if you have a problem with stairs, ask fo a lower floor room.

The owner was such a nice person, he gave us a lot of information about places to see around. The hotel is very well situated - walking distance to everything but quiet and relaxing.

The breakfast was delicious, they even had Maple sirup! If you go there, bring the owner a can of real maple sirup if you come from Canada or northern states, that's where he gets it from. One guest brought him a bottle of Aunt Jemima sirup and he thought it was real because the bottle said "original". Anyway, it's the best breakfast we had in Turkey.

The only negative we found was that there was no curtain for our shower (some rooms have them and some others don't...)

We stayed at the Elif Star for four nights in September and absoluely loved it. Our room was beautiful with the bedframe carved into the cave wall and even a little balcony that gave great views of the valley. The breakfasts were amazing; we'd traveled through Turkey for several weeks so it was great to get a choice of breakfasts (we tried all of them and they were fabulous!). The owners were very nice and happy to chat/answer questions but never pushy. I would happily stay there again or recommend it to anyone else.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights. The cave was quite cozy and homey. Hot showers, heater, electricity, and warm rugs. The owner is very friendly and up for a chat. A great breakfast is included in the very decent price. It is one of the best Turkish breakfasts we've had! Free wifi in the common area, cheap laundry service, great place!

........that was what we thought, and we chose Elif Star. And it was OK (you still have a balcony or window, hence not quite a real cave, but still). It was nice and quiet and "uncle" served a fantastic breakfast. What we did not like was the fact that the rooms were not cleaned during our 3-days stay (we could have asked for it though). And as the only place we saw in Goreme it was not allowed to flush the toiletpaper - the container was not emptied during our stay. It was a bit primitiv for the price. But Mustafa and "uncle" were very friendly and helpful. I'm not quite sure whether I would recommend Elif Star to others...........
