Having read some of the reviews its hard to believe we stayed at the same hotel!

If you are looking for a stylishly decorated and well located hotel this is your kind of place. However if you are looking for a hotel with service this is not. its a glorified B & B. There is no welcome on arrival, and if the dog doesn't bite you at reception the lady behind the desk will! Once they have established that your are not intersted in buying any of their tour packages they leave you alone. Great location, certainly not the cleanest and a very average breakfast and the long course in the hotel charm school would be the only thing I could recommend for this hotel. A big disappointment to such a beautiful and outstanding area - choose another hotel

Room Tip: Had 2 rooms - would opt for a room with a window as they the cave rooms smell stale and the bathroom...

This hotel put a smile on our faces from the moment we arrived. The staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful we experienced on our five week trip. We would have been happy staying around our beautiful room and outdoor area the whole time, and all the meals were great.
Staff helped us plan our day trips and the must do balloon ride, giving us great options for most budgets. And a sheesha on the rooftop lounge is a must.

Room Tip: Go for a room with a spa, just what yon need after a hard days exploring.

The Cave Hotel is on the mountain side with beautiful valley views. The room we had was definitely a cave.

My top reasons why I would come back:
-Room was cool and very dark at night
-Sitting area and large washroom
-Very Clean
-Good breakfast included
-Nice "roof top" patio with low cushions and tables, can enjoy a Nargile and a Beer while you take in the lit up caves and live music echoing.

Things to note:
-Seemed to be a bus tour hotel? Pretty non invasive as there are not many rooms but breakfast can be a little chaotic.
-Not all the rooms are very cave like, request to not have the one on the right of the entrance. That one also had a very strong cat smell...
-No pool

Room Tip: Get a rental car and explore the area, we found some gems...

Capadocia is all about the cave dwellings, so staying in a cave hotel seemed the obvious thing to do. The Traveller's Cave offered good facilities in addition to an authentic cave experience.

Our room was quite large considering it was carved out of the cliff-side. The bathroom was very generous - including a large jacuzzi. The room is air-conditioned, as well as having a fire place and a central heating system - which was very welcome during the chilly nights of our stay.

The bed was comfortable with adequate bedding. The shower was a great size, but did suffer from poor drainage - water pooled in the shower floor. For those staying more than one or two days, there is not a lot of storage for clothes. There was however a coffee table and chairs arranged in from of the fireplace - very comfortable.

The hotel staff were very friendly and obliging throughout our stay. Helped us with directions, balloon booking and general information about the local attractions.

Breakfast consisted of a typical selection of Turkish food. Omelettes are cooked on request. The indoor breakfast area had a beautiful view over the town and valley. The outdoor areas, including the many private sittings areas, have spectacular views.

One thing that you cannot escape when staying at Traveller's Cave (or any cave hotel in the area) is steps. There is a short, but quite steep, road from the town centre to the base of the hotel. If you travel by car, then you can drive up close to reception , but there are still a number of steps to traverse. Depending on your room location, you will have a few or many steps in order to get to breakfast or to the car park.

Overall, we had a great time at the Travellers. If you are after a genuine cave experience, with a good dose of creature comforts, then it is well worth considering.

Three of us females aged 30 stayed in this hotel. We got a room with a single bed and a queen bed. Private washroom with shower only and a fireplace and two chairs. We loved it the moment we walked in.

The service was great they were very helpful. I would not do the red tour just do the green tour. It's just extra money grabber. Also they charge more with their tours than their dorm hostel Cave they paid like 30$ cheaper than we did I found this out because my last night I was alone and I stayed at the Cave dorm hostel which is with the same owner so you should find a company outside first because the hotel makes profit off you. So I would choose the green and red tours and air balloon tour with outside company. We used butterfly air balloons they were wonderful.

I would stay here again.

Room Tip: We asked for a room to accommodate three girls. One single bed and a queen was in the room and we ha...

We stayed here Sept 4-6, 2013 because we researched Gerome as the best city to stay in the Cappadocia region. We primarily traveled here to take a hot air balloon ride; it is a MUST! Upon arrival to the hotel, we were given tour information and told we could book directly through them and they set up all of the arrangements. My husband and I normally book EVERYTHING in advance, but arrived not having anything booked. We were able to get on a hot air balloon the next morning, and took a jeep safari tour the following day. Most cave hotels in the area do NOT have air conditioning, but being from Florida; it is a MUST for us. Although everyone in their reviews were correct that the caves have a natural cooling method; I still like air conditioning to sleep with and we were never uncomfortable. The room in general was fine; it was the best compared to a lot of hotels without paying a fortune. This hotel had the BEST view. We had drinks outside often and were happy we chose this hotel because of the view. It took 4 mins to walk to town and wasn't that steep to walk up the hills. Yes, there are a lot of stairs, but nothing you can't manage...and it's just exercise to help with all of the bread you'll eat! Overall, fine experience.
