This 4-star hotel is right across the street from the Dardanelles (ancient Hellespont) with spectacular views—especially from the roof-top bar. It also is an excellent place to base oneself for a visit to the Archaeological ruins of Ancient Troy.
When we first arrived, we were in front, and went in to ask about on-site parking there were a number of people at Reception, but a hotel employee came up to offer assistance. He turned out to be the manager. Finding the parking was a bit tricky, so he went out and walking, led us to the parking and had someone take our bags in. We encountered him several other times and he was always gracious and welcoming without being intrusive. We appreciated his attention to guest comfort.
The room was nice, well equipped. The hotel is beginning to age but is several years from needing a makeover. Everything was neat and in good order. Breakfast was good.
We enjoyed a well-attended evening of contemporary popular Turkish music in the bar.
Across the street is the Hollywood wooden Trojan Horse built for and used in the 2005 movie “Troy” with Brad Pitt as Achilles. There is a nice exhibit with it and it affords a nice photo opportunity.More
