“Hotel poor but location fantastic”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2010

I stayed here with my friend in July. We got a good deal with this hotel we ignored the reviews because people were saying the hotel was close to the main town.

When we arrived we were placed on the first floor above a noisy car wash below. We were also put next to a balcony where the staff in the hotel took their breaks. We were unpacking when we discovered the male staff were watching me and my friend dressing. We asked reception if we could move but they said they were fully booked, we complained to our rep and she found us a room immediatly and moved us as we were only 18.

We got moved to a slightly bigger room higher up it was better than the first room but still wasn't fantastic.

The food was horrible it was salad every night, I dont mind salad, but only if its fresh, which it wasn't. Me and my friend came home having lost weight because we didn't eat all week except for the one night we ate out.

The pool was about the size of my bathroom and it was always hard getting a sunbed, luckily when we got home after a night out, it was about 7am so we reserved our beds early.

The only good thing about this hotel was the location as it was near bar street and all the shops.

I enjoyed my holiday so much but only because of the night life. The hotel during the day was ok if you was only sunbathing but there is no entertainment or nothing for children to do. Luckily me and my friend just went shopping when we had nothing to do.

Centrally located in the middle of Kusadasi with immediate access to shopping, restaurants, bars and clubs - open till early morning by the sound of it.
The hotel is classed 3 stars, but deserves not more than 2 stars - maximum.
The rooms are small, simple and worn, despite the odd stroke of fresh paint here and there. Cleaning is very poor, its considerably more dirty and filthy than what the website pictures might indicate. Furniture is partially broken, in addition to being mucky and dusty. The bathroom is small, has stains of rust on the fixings. The bathroom walls and floor are full of growing germs and dirt.
No minibar and no refridgerator (and no drinks are allowed being brought from the bar/restaurant to the room).
There is a slow working AC-unit in the room, but ours had a big hole through the wall underneath it, allowing moskitos and other bugs to enter the room at any time. (In addition you have the bugs than enter through the shower drains...)
Cleaning and towel change 3 times a week only - no pool towels are provided, and you are not allowed to bring the room towels to the pool, you need to bring extra towels for this purpose.
Bar, restaurant and pool on the rooftop. Nice view of the town when you´ve finally climbed the 6 floors up (there is an elevator, but it only takes 4 persons and it is extremely slow). The "restaurant" serves simple meals at a fixed schedule (be sure to be there on time if You want to eat here - if you come 5 minutes before the meal is over You´ll be turned away, even if the food is still there). Filthy kitchen, rarely cleaned tables and doubtfully cleaned plates, cutlery and glasses/cups. (Do not be surprised if Your glass of water tastes like raki. Someone else used the same glass for raki not long ago...). I sincerely doubt this place would pass a hygiene control!

Like the food, the service is poor. The waiters - with their NOT recently cleaned clothes - were occupied of informing their guests that they had only slept one hour last night, as it was friday and partytime. -More occupied curing their own hangover, than serving their guests and cleaning tables etc.
- But the cityview is good!

The pool is adjacent to the "restaurant", not very large and not very clean. The water is cloudy and the bottom feels sandy. It is not sand however on the bottom, its dirt. Even the waterrails surrounding the pool are growing. (By the way, there is no grass around the pool as shown on the website). The is a paddlepool for toddlers, hidden behind the deck chairs in the corner. (But two toddlers inside - and its packed!)
As for the "large" pool; also not very large - and with four drunken russians in it - you don´t really want to be in there at at all.
The bar is next to the pool. It has limited opening hours, a completely pissed bartender barely capable of standing up, and hence a really poor service.
Its called "All inclusive", but I recommend You eat and drink elsewhere.

You might find this hotel suitable if your a bunch of friends going for a week of party 24/7, but I strongly advice You not to come here with children!

Not good, we suffered badly with our booking of this hotel.

Firstly our booking was made with a Polish travel company GTI travel, their advert with the travel agent stated this was a 5 star hotel, the price for a last minute booking was good so we booked. The following day (1 day before the flight) our travel agent informed us of a mistake by GTI travel, apparently the hotel is 3 star, we had no alternative other than to keep the booking or miss out on a holiday.

So on to the 3 star hotel.

Certainly not what I'd expect of 3 stars, even in Turkey.

The rooms were dirty, and drains very smelly.

The food was bad, salads ok, but meat dishes were very poor, as were the deserts.

The hotel is very, very, noisy at night, most of this comes from surrounding bars as there is no entertainment at all in the hotel itself, unless you call the bad music played too loud in the pool bar entertainment.

The service for drinks with meals is pretty good, there are a couple of good guys serving, the service is not so friendly in the pool bar or indeed the food service. Reception staff are ok and quite helpful.

In my ratings this hotel would not even make it to 2 star let alone 3 or 5.

I was a bit apprehensive of staying here after reading some of the reviews. The holiday cost £230 All inclusive for the week so i wasn't expecting 5*. What we did get was fabulous location, nice room with air con. The food was ok, something different to eat each day. We got chips once in the week, other days included mash potatoe, pasta, rice etc. The salads were lovely and there was always fresh bread.
The pool bar served local drinks and beer from 11am ... but if you wanted an earlier drink you could get one from the restaurant. The bar colsed at 11pm but you could always get a few in at 10.45pm to take full advantage :)
There is a mosque just a few feet in front which calls to prayer a few times (I thought the sound was theraputic). I "think" the mosque called to prayer around 4am but it never bothered us as this is what time we were getting in from the buzzing nightlife.
All in all this area & hotel is great for the price ........ If you pay £300 or below you just cant complain.
And just to add, dont bother buying anything from Bodrum airport! It was 10 Lira for a tine of coke (Aprox. £4.45) and for 2 beers it was £12.50 ..... yes £12.50 UK!!!!

I stayed on this hotel for one week, and was about only 180 euro, for all inclusive.
The food was ok,but repetitive,aniway the breakfast was rich,included cheese,eggs,tomatoes,cucumber sliced,butter,jam,honey,two tipes of olives,sometimes sausages,scrambled eggs,scrambled eggs with salamy,salamy(one type)tea,cofee,cappucine(was a machine there),bread,and dietary bread too.Was plenty,in my opinion,for the price i was paying.
And lunch and dinner was plenty at all,was not only once soy meat, only chicken breast, snitzel, chicken legs, sausages, hamburgers, fish, and a lot of variery of sallads, for everyone.
And the room was clean, insects free, and hot watter all over the day,the housekepper comes every day with a supervisor for cleaning safe of rooms.
My room was on the back side of the hotel,so i didn't heard any noise from outside(a police station is nearby, the next building. And A/C was inside the room, but we didn't used.
Was a very friendly hotel, very good food, cofee, and very cheap, reported at prices in Kusadasi.I will recomend everybody this nice and frinebdly, cheap hotel.I enjoyed every minut there. The beach is nearby but it is small, and you have to take a van for a large beach(ladies beach)Ia about 3TL(1.5 euro). The wiew is magnificient, you can take the dinner ans watch the cruise ships arriving, there are so many cruise ships there, you can take pictures and tape departing cruises ship from balcony, was fantastic!!!behind the hotel is a cofee shop with wireless,so you can browse if you have a behind wiew room.,from balcony.(balcony included two plastic chairs, and a small table)

Hello,

Attention: Do Not Book this hotel, if you want to get some sleep and relaxation! It is nearby loud clubs and mosques. Music is very loud until 4 am, then the Islamic prayers shutter in your ears around 4:30am.

In the daytime you cannot get any sleep either because houskeeping cleans between 2-4pm and the carts they use are going back and forth the hallways - noisy.

I stayed in Surtel Hotel for one week on All Inclusive. The hotel class is 2 stars in reality, not 3 stars as it has. Food is poor on variety, sometimes they serve Soya meat instead of real meat.

The hotel has convenient location in the center, that's all you can get and be happy about. Central beach is nearby, but not recommended as water is dirty from the port. Best beaches - Kustur Beach and Long Beach.

  • Liked — the view over the city; the location
  • Disliked — very very noisy; not suitable for long stay (longer than 3 days)

My partner and i stayed at this hotel last week . I rate this hotel very good , position great, local to town centre and beach. Food very nice apart from puddings which didnt vary much. Staff very helpfull, rooms ok and the air con wonderfull as it was very hot!!!
The hotel could do with a bit of entertainment in the evenings as there is none. Overall , very good value for money will stay there again.
