I did have a bit of trouble finding the hotel (we were in rental car), but not as hard to find as our hotel in Antalya (Old Town). As soon as we stepped in the doorof this over-100 year old former home, we were greeted as VIPs. Our room was great with lots of room and a fairly comfy bed. When we arrived, I asked if they had a double bed. They said "no", but they'd be happy to put the twins together to make a king. I imagined we would end up with 2 mattresses next to each other but with a gap my arm or leg would fall into. "No, no, it will be good" we were told, so I agreed. These folks have that act down to an art. I could barely tell the bed was 2 twins strapped together.

The pool was nice with lounges and umbrella provided. The open-air breakfast area adjoins the pool and is a nice setting for the adequate breakfast. There is a self-serve cooler with beers and soft drinks and you just mark down on a form what you've taken. There is also a coffee, latte, capuccino machine and tea bags open 24 hours at no cost. A real plus for me as I need my afternoon caffeine fix.

There are mutiple sitting areas where one can kick back, read or doze. A multi-language library has many books that I assume have beeen donated by guests? There's also a billiards table is you have time.

At 5 pm, the staff announces that tea is served. Guests sit in mixed groups which offers an excellent opportunity to vist with other guests and hear about the places they've been. Fresh cookies are also served and they were great!!!

All in all, a wonderful stay I highly recommend.

Spent one night here during a side trip to Ephesus from Istanbul last week. Owner welcomed us with a cold Efes (the most popular beer that is served in Istanbul, by the way, but tea and Turkish coffee were also available) and delicious Turkish cookies (made by his wife) in the lovely garden (complete with lime tree and a hammock--wish we had more time to enjoy the garden). Breakfast was outdoors by the pool--a lovely buffet featuring a traditional Turkish breakfast. 60 Euros per night including breakfast. Nice web site. Chose Villa Konak from positive reviews here from others. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We chose to stay in Kusadasi for our visit to Ephesis, Turkey. This turned out to be a good choice, as it was close to Ephesis and a pleasant city to visit. Villa Konak Hotel was chosen because other travelers had given it good reviews. We were not disappointed. We had chosen double deluxe rooms, and they were wonderful. They were next to a very nice swimming pool and were like a suite, with a separate room with tv and sofa . I suspect that the standard rooms were also very nice, though not quite as large. There were several families checked into this hotel, obviously well known among Turkish travelers. We were invited to afternoon tea at 5:00 p.m. every day and had a chance to visit with other guests. Breakfasts poolside were nice. If you are traveling by car to this hotel, you might be better served to stop at a taxi stand and pay about 15 Turkish Lira (about 8 USD), to have a taxi guide you to the hotel. It's not easy to find because it's on a narrow one-way street, and maps don't help much in showing the roundabout way you have to get to the front of the hotel. Certainly the Villa Konak Hotel was one of the nicest hotels we stayed at during our three-week tour of Turkey.

Since Kusadasi is a tourist town staying at the Konak felt more authentic. The owner was very helpful even though his English was not fluent, they had a very good breakfast with fresh fruits, home made jams and soft boiled eggs and real OJ (not freshly squeezed but it still beats the powdered orange drinks). the rooms were spartan and charming but my biggest complaint was the old black mold in the shower which is something the cleaners cannot really clean off, the owner should remove the old seal and re-cock it. the location is walking distance to all the restaurants and shops but at night i would not advise to walk in that area alone if you are a women as its very dark with narrow streets..

they made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, the room was spacious and had little extras like a library in each room and there is also a large full book case in the day room situated by the pool. reclining seats around the pool and self service cold beer/ soft drinks. There are no English channels on the TV but we never really had time to watch it. An ideal way of spending a day if the turmoli of the town gets to you. The walk to town is a steep downhill stroll taking 5/6 minutes passing an efficient dry cleaners who are very cheap, a tailor who altered a pair of shorts in a couple of hours charging £3. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the dolmus by the harbour will take you to Ladies beach for a £1 deck chairs and umbrella are available there.

Stayed here 4 nights and arrived in the evening. First impressions were not favourable. Came by taxi and took quite a while to navigate the streets. The street itself is nothing special and it took us by surprise. It was late and the man on the desk seemed less than welcoming - our room looked stark and basic.
However by the next day there was a different mood to the place. The breakfast was served out by the pool and the room seemed more low key than stark. The owner introduced himself and all the staff seemed to be on their best behaviour. He was exceptionally charming and was able to organise tours and taxis without any fuss.
Villa Konak is an interesting place. It is in the old town and only 5 minutes walk to all the shops. The location is great. Each morning something different appeared on the breakfast buffet.
I guess this place grows on you - it's like staying with friends rather than a hotel experience.
Each afternoon the ladies serve tea and home made biscuits and gathered everyone to come and talk to each other.
It is small enough to be friendly.

Rooms are set around a lush garden courtyard with a central pool - like an oasis. Rooms are very spacious (by European standards) and tastefully decorated. Owner was very friendly and keen to assist with sightseeing and luggage storage - even gave us an unexpected small gift! A shame we only had one night - it would have been nice to stay longer. Only a few minutes walk from the main streets. Highly recommended

Room Tip: Our room faced the street but was very quiet - not much traffic in this area
