I saw it on internet before the planned travel but I felt totally amazed upon reaching the ruins of Ephesus. It was sooo surreal, I thought I was dreaming and was transported back to the time when Gods and Goddesses of Roman Mythology mingle with human beings..it was a roman ancient city with marble floors and brick roads that houses the temples of gods and goddesses, an enormous library and a greek amphitheatre... On the way to the House of Mary which comes first on our itinerary after our tourist guide fetched us from Izmir Airport (1 hr flying time from Istanbul) is really a breather. the mountains are verdant and the aegean sea makes the place very calm and serene. Hundreds of tourists are already inside the House of Mary when we arrived but everyone really seems so respectful of the sacredness of the place...If you want to make a special prayer, you can post it in the prayer wall and if you are a catholic, bring an empty bottle so you can collect the water fr the faucet allegedly from a spring and believed to be miraculous.

“An unexpected fabulous tour.”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

What an amazing adventure. I was very surprised to visit such a great place as I had not planned it as well as I thought. We started with a trip to the Virgin Mary's house in Ephesus. It was truly surreal!! For those of you that are Catholics, this is a magnificent experience. For those that are not, you will still find it incredible. The serene feeling even though there are hundreds of people was remarkable. From there we went to the greatest outdoor museum I have ever seen. The Celsius library, the Great theater that held 25,000 people, the temple of Hadrian and so many other treasures to see. It was amazing and humbling at the same time. I highly recommend putting Ephesus and Kuşadasi on your bucket list. If you do a tour, don't go see the "rug" shows unless you are a fan of high pressure sales. The rugs there were beautiful, but they try to force you to buy one and I an not a fan of people that will not take no for an answer.

“Walk the paved streets that John the Baptist and ancient Romans walked.”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

On our Mediterranean Cruise we stopped at a city of Kudasi, a bustling port with food vendors, carpet sellers and general shops. Very cosmopolitan. But it is on the outskirts of Kudasi that you are transported back into the time of Cleopatra, John the Baptist and Nero. A fully escorted bus tour of
Ephesus an ancient city of Roman Days with paved streets, large statues of Gods and Goddess an Ampitheatre for huge crowds and a beautiful Library, which housed scrolls from scribes from the beginning of time. The sofisitication of this city with its drainage system, public houses, toilets, marble floors and beautiful fresco's should not be missed. Step back in time, imagine yourself in a toga going to a sporting event in the ampitheatre or just visiting the library. Touch the stone, feel the marble and listen to the story it has to tell. When we were there we were given a re-inactment of gladiators, dancing girls and a visit from Caeser. Would I return and visit again, yes I would but I would stay longer and explore more. Highly reccommended

“Great Ephesus Tour”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

I arranged this small group tour in September for a November cruise stopping in Kusadasi. The registration was online and very easy to complete. We chose the site tour as well as the Terrace Houses for a total of $55 per person. This price included all the transportation from the port and back. Our guide, Tugrul Sokmen was very well versed in the history of Esphesus as well as points of interest along the way. His English was excellent. This tour was much preferred to those offered by the ship as we traveled by a small van-only 6 of us as well as the driver, Hakan, and Tugrul. It was a much more personable and fun experience. Ephesus is a must see and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip thanks to the excellent service provided by Kusadasi Tours. When I return to Turkey I will definitely hire this company again.
