Our guide, Ilkir,(Kai) was FANTASTIC! He met us as we were disembarking from the ship . He kept us entertained the entire day, as he was very knowledgeable about Turkey , its history and shared his love of the country. We were a group of 10 people from South Africa. He kept us all interested even though our ages ranged from 68years down to 12 years!I would definitely recommend Tayf.

Our tour guide was Ahu and she was wonderful. Great communication skills. It was just her, a driver, and the two of us. We were able to go at our own pace. Ephesus was fascinating. We visited Sirinci, a little village on a mountain top. Very interesting. Lots of little shops, cafes, etc. We had arrived in Izmir, most tours start in Kusadasi, but it was no problem. Tayf accommodated us well.

Tayf Tours worked with me to put together a great private day tour. We had been to Ephesus on a previous trip and wanted to see other sites in the area the day our cruise ship would dock in Kusadasi. Tayf put together a tour that included a peek of Ephesus from the upper gate, a stop at the statue of the Virgin Mary and visits to Selcuk Castle, Basilica of St. John, The İsa Bey Mosque, and The Temple of Artemis. We also visited the village of Şirince, a delightful village with shops selling local products and handicrafts. Outside many of the shops were the village women making their products. The village is also famous for its wines and many shops were selling the local vintages. We wondered the little paths and alleys, climbed to the top of the village for a visit to an old church and had coffee with a view of the entire village and countryside. This stop was the highlight of the day. We visited the Seven Sleepers Cave, had a very nice included lunch and carpet demonstration and ended with a panoramic tour of Kusadasi. The tour ended with a walk on the promenade in Kusadasi and late afternoon drinks at a café overlooking the fisherman and harbour. This private tour could not have been better. The private guide was excellent, spoke perfect English and had a great knowledge of the history and culture of the area. We had a very comfortable van and the driver stopped when ever I wanted a picture. Tayf offers a wide range of group tours but we opted for this customized private tour and paid less than half of price of the Holland America tours. You will not be disappointed with Tayf Tours what ever your expectations are!

Our guide (sorry I can't remember her name but has been guiding tours for something like 30 years) did an excellent job taking us around Ephesus. We saw many other larger tour groups (with our guide it was just us), and they looked like a typical large tour group - huge swaths of people gathered around one person, whom you could barely hear, shuffling from one statue or stone to the other. Our experience was much more intimate, and we learned a lot more since we had the time and focus of our guide to ask questions (this is as much about this guide and the tour company is it is about just making sure you have a private tour).

There were a couple of sites in Ephesus where she let us go explore on our own and then come back and meet her - that was a great way to break up the day and let us absorb some of what she'd been telling us. After the Ephesus tour, she and our driver took us to a carpet rug-making school where we had lunch and were shown lots of different carpets (we knew this was coming so it wasn't a surprise).

Overall an excellent experience, and would highly recommend the tour company, and their guide. Will try and get her name and post back to this review.

Tayf Tours was great - they were willing to customize anything we wanted and make all the arrangements. We were met promptly everywhere and our guide for Ephesus, Ilkir, was amazing! When we found something additional we wanted to add, it was no problem and his knowledge of the area and the history was incredible. We could have happily spent many more days. Entrance fees were included and most of our meals. It was the perfect ending to a month of travel.
