Stopped for a week in May 2014. Had some mixed expectations judging from other reviews on trip advisor as although people tended to give a good star rating some of the comments made were quite critical. Well here is my assessment.

Food
Very good. Restaurant is a bit of a rush at evening meal time but never had a problem finding a table or in getting a drink. Waiting staff were efficient and attentive. Quality of food was good. It was always well presented with a wide selection. For a week it was varied enough.

All inclusive
Was available up until midnight. Not good quality spirits but reasonable wine and Tuborg lager. Several bars in the hotel.

Entertainment
Poor. Animation team tried to be inclusive, but generally not my scene. Evening entertainment was not good.

Swimming pool
No problem with getting a sun bed. No-one seemed to reserve them early. A bit cramped for a 5 star hotel. Pool a bit cold but was fine.

Beach
A short walk down hill via the hotel lift. A bar adjacent to the beach that was part of the all inclusive concept. Sun beds free and cushion provided.

Rooms
Best to get one overlooking the pool if possible. Great views. Kept clean and good room service. Ours was adapted for disabled people which was good.

Location
Away from Side town but that was no problem. A lovely walk along the beach front (turn left at beach). Side was OK to visit for a day. Although not actually on the beach it was close enough.

Resort
Not heavily English but that added to the experience. The hotel was mainly German as many commented but this was not a problem in the slightest.

Overall assessment
This is a good hotel with attentive staff. It is really a slobbing it out all inclusive experience of pretty good quality. Its not 5 star luxury but it is much better than most hotels offering this type of experience.

I'd recommend the place.

Everything about the hotel is excellent - the food, drink and decor is superb and absolutely spotless.

The rooms are spacious and the pools, bars, restaurant(s) are of extremely high quality.

There is a beach bar and private area beach - and the walk to the nearby town is lovely.

That is why I could not give it anything but a top score.

But.... as a UK guest, I did feel a bit alienated. Everything about the hotel is aimed squarely at the German market. The staff speak VERY little english (including reception); but are fluent in German. The entertainment, events and culture is aimed at the German market - this includes the football (all of the german club matches were advertised and were on the big screen and a big fuss made - some very big UK matches which were on during our stay were not even on the radar).

This is obviously not a criticism - but bearing in mind that after the first day, you are then placed into the hands of a german rep - if you are not expecting it (or were relying on ongoing support) this could cause issues.

Overall though - the hotel itself was excellent and although language barriers were an issue, the staff were friendly and was amazing value for money.

A lovely hotel with great facilities BUT totally geared up for the Germans. We felt very much on the outside of things, most of the staff DO NOT speak English. All the evening entertainment is spoken in german, the thompson rep who did the welcome meeting handed us over to her "counter part" who was German. No information wall or information folder in English. On the journey home was picked up by a coach whose driver ONLY spoke German. Food was excellent and the facilities were very clean.

Side old town is beautiful and well worth a visit but be aware the Turkish folk are in your face the whole time, pushing their goods. I actually had my wrist grabbed because I would not buy anything in a shop.

All in all was totally let down by the lack of help for the English visitors and god forbid if there had been an emergency situation the English would not have known about it!!!

The hotel itsels was very nice ,as in furnishings and decor, but thats as good as it got.
It is the noisiest hotel i have ever been to as the sevice lift for the staff was in constant use by the maids who were constantly slamming the sevice entrance doors from 6am! they were constantly crashing thier trollys into your door as they passed and having conversations across the internal balcony so i must thank them for a early rise every day, any general repair work was carried out during the night so you could often here hammers tapping away in the early hours of the morning.
around the pool area thier was little going on maybe because this was the beginning of the season also i got fed up with them constantly playing cover songs and last christmas by george michael around the pool. but the biggest problem is it is a very germanic hotel so if your british forget it unless you like being seen to after the germans!

Room Tip: dont choose ground or near the service lifts

Visiting at the end of April/beginning of May I have only been home for a few days so the holiday is still fresh in my mind! We paid £325 for the package holiday including all inclusive.

As far as the hotel is concerned, the settings are grand and it is INCREDIBLY clean and well kept. The entertainment staff were a little annoying at times because they constantly tried to get you involved in activities which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The staff for the most part are friendly, although not all speak English. Staff members seem to prefer the German guests but are by no means rude.

The main downfall of this hotel was definitely the food. As a vegetarian I was left with VERY little choice. Even my boyfriend who is a meat eater found the food quite repetitive. What I will say is that the food got slightly better towards the end of our stay. I think this is due to the fact that they were starting their summer food menu rather than the off peak type.
As for the quality of the food it is average at best although there is generally a lot of choice. Fresh fruit and salad is available with every meal which is nice.

Overall I would say that, for the price, we had an exceptional deal. My recommendation would be to go maybe half board (if you don't drink very much) and eat elsewhere. There are plenty of restaurants in the surrounding areas.

Room Tip: Definitely opt for a pool/sea view if it is offered.

This is one of the largest hotels I have ever stayed in and I did think we might have a problem finding sunbeds etc but we didn't. The location is excellent, just a stones throw from the beach. Communal areas are light and airy. The whole hotel is clean and well decorated. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, most having a beautiful sea view.
If I had to criticize anything it would be the dining experience: not the quality or choice of foods, that was excellent, but the inevitable scrum at 7pm - embarrassing! You'd think the guests were starving particularly those from one particular nation (which I won't name)!
I would advise guests to use the Hotel's own spa and not the pricey trips sold by tour companies. The Turkish Bath we were taken to was ok but not as professional as the hotel's own spa. We also took the trip to Manavgat market, waterfalls and textile shop. All three stops were worth visiting but there just wasn't enough time at any one of them. This was followed by a river boat trip including lunch. I like boat trips but the food was poor to say the least.
Overall though we had a lovely holiday and were particularly impressed with the hotel. They seem to have thought of everything.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view - its beautiful!

I stayed at the Side Prenses with a friend in mid-April.
The hotel is immaculate all round and the staff are extremely attentive, bringing another drink as soon as you put an empty glass down. We found the food to be very varied, as it is always to be expected that chips and salad are on the menu daily, in order to cater for the less adventurous(!) but there was always a number of different local and international dishes to choose from.
In terms of the amount of German guests at this hotel, yes, they do certainly out-weigh the English. This wasn't a problem for us, as we speak fluent German and found it easy to converse in German with the staff conversationally. However, it is perfectly easy to order drinks etc. in English, as the staff all have basic training in the language. If anything, I preferred there being fewer English guests at the resort, as the few we did experience were young, loud and used inappropriate language throughout (which is saying something, coming from a 25 year old!).
The animation team made our trip, as the entertainment was simple, yet hilarious. They were not pushy when getting people involved in activities during the day, and similarly I was surprised that we received absolutely no hassle on the beach. I would say that this is a hotel more equipped for couples or families, but as a pair of friends, we had a really good holiday and found local bars and clubs very accessible with the direction of the friendly hotel staff.
All in all I think this hotel is excellent value for money and I would definitely visit again!

Room Tip: Sea view room is incredible. Try level 3 and above to get the best views and aim for a room directly...
