“Suntopia Seven Seas September 2011”
Reviewed September 23, 2011

This is a bit lengthy but also comprehensive and honest.

Just spent a week in the Seven seas hotel/resort and were more than impressed. This was our 1st all-inclusive resort holiday so we don't have much to compare to but the hotel areas were clean and tidy, the grounds are very well kept and much more impressive than other nearby hotels which we check out during our holiday.

The 2 pools were large enough to allow us to swim or float about on lilo's without hassle and the 2 flumes and the crazy river were good fun if you fancied a quick rush of adrenalin.

The staff were very friendly and looked after us well and although we travelled as a couple we saw them playing with other kids and families.

The eating areas we're a bit hectic at times but this is bound to be the case with a large family resort, the hotel provided adult only areas in both the restaurants and sunbed areas which was a fantastic escape from the noise. I would agree that the food was repetative at both breakfast and lunch however there is plenty to choose from if your not fussy and most evenings we easliy had different 3 course meals without repetatition over a week and the food that was on offer was of a very high standard and was very well presented. Out of the 2 al a carte resturants we ate at the international, which we did not think much of, as the dishes served looked very similar to those on offer in the buffet but the service was impressive as always although not much english spoken but it was a luxury being waited on.

The beach was nice but did't spend much time there as it was coarse sand and shingle. The sea became very deep very quickly and seemed quite rough so not suited to weak swimmers. Although there was plenty of shade and sunloungers available and it tended to be cooler with the sea breeze. Also a nice spot to stop with a free ice cream. We used the free kayaks/canoes from the water sport company next to the resort.

The accomodation was impressive. We stayed in a suite directly above the reception which was beautful. It was very large with one separate bedroom and dressing room and was carpeted throughout which was not in other standard rooms. Beds were comfortable and large. No balcony though which we thought we would get as advertised with Thompson. Our room was more than comfortable for 2 of us but did hear from other guests that double rooms were not of the same standard.

There were 5 bars on site and tea/coffee/soft drink facilities in the resturant, The drinks included were suitable but only local spirits were free with all premium spirits (Smirnoff/Jack Daniels etc) all at about 10Euro's a glass. They had on offer in the evenings free punch, cocktails and in the Pool bar slush puppie style ice drinks which could be topped up with a spirit mix to spice it up a bit. There was also happy hour offers at the lobby bar from 5:30 till 7pm which made the premium cocktails only 3Euros each.

The local area was quite remote with only a few shops in walking distance and a couple of other resorts there wasn't much else to do unless you jumped into a bus and made your way into Side. We made this trip only once but would have to suggest you definatly try it, costing only 1Euro for a 15min bus ride its well worth it. The walk from the bus station takes you past loads of ancient ruins and into the main town of Side which has some nice views, a lovely harbour and a fabulous sunset.

We did only one excursion with Thompson which was to the market and Manavgat falls, well worth the 29Euros but not all stops were necessary, maybe staying longer at each spot would have been nicer.

Overall a fabulous holiday for us, well worth the money spent and would highly recommend. This has to be the best hotel in the area. Take a moment to learn a few turkish phrases... it wins the hearts of the locals and staff. We were treated differently and people seemed to make allowances when we made the effort to use their language.

P.S. We had read in other reviews before going about the amount of non-english guests and this is true but it had no impact on our holiday. We became friendly with a few english people but also SOME of the other nationalities were plesant and friendly but certainly not all.

Room Tip: Ask for a suite above reception, worth the extra money, but no balcony.

I have just this morning returned from a one week holiday at Seven Seas Imperial and feel it is necessary to explain to some what has happened to this hotel.

All revues from last year were based on the Magic Life experience. The standard of Magic Life is set be the Austrians/ Germans as they are majority of clients who use this company. If you can put up with this you would be fine. As we all know these people will not put up with inferior standards so the bar is set very high.

The Imperial tag came from these hotels supplying branded spirits, Efes beer in Turkey as well as Becks beer. Sparkling wine, Baileys etc.

I must say that the standard of the food this year (Suntopia hotels who are now the owners) was one step below that of Magic Life, there were a lot of stews rather than roasts of meat. However I found it tasty if not some what repetitive.

The biggest difference for me was the entertainment. Or should I say the total lack of it. If you took a late evening meal you were left with a d.v.d image screen playing muted music which just went around on its self repeating approx every 40 mins. This ended at 11 p.m After that there was nothing. Totally pathetic. If there were only two of you you must have been bored .

With Magic Life you had an animation team leading the day time and evening entertainment with a disco around the pool finishing at 12 pm. Then if you wanted, another disco underground playing until 2 a.m

To my knowledge there were no Germans at Seven Seas the week I was there, so I rest my case.

I have been going away with Magic life for over 10 years , but it appears to be becoming limited to the British travelers. There are only 4 hotels open to us now , maybe the Austrian/ Germans prefer it with out us.

There are a still few hotels like Seven Seas that have the Imperial tag with Thompsons Platinum and First Choice. Beware if it doesn't say Magic Life its not .

That said I still enjoyed Seven Seas because the Turkish staff at this hotel were brilliant.

I don't want to be negative about this hotel as I really enjoyed it and it is most majestic , it is that if you are used to, and expect Magic life standards you maybe disappointed

Room Tip: There are some rooms without a balcony. Make sure you ask for a one

Went to this hotel in August with my family. The location of the hotel was fantastic right on the beach. This hotel and is facilities were second to none. The rooms were mininalistic, just the way I like it. We requested a sea view and thats just what we got overlooking the pool and out to sea. The hotel itself was spotless and could not be faulted. The staff took pride in this hotel and even the manager came to our welcome meeting to introduce himself. The choice of food available in the main restaurant was exceptional - there was something for everyone - they had thought of everything. We did do to the Al Carte restaurant twice and this fab - well worth the quee to book. The hotel had the most wonderful grounds were you could walk and admire the dedication of the gardeners. We did the Mangvat/Waterfall trio with Thompsons and really enjoyed it. Would have liked a little more time at the outlet centre. We had the most wonderful holiday and will certainly be going back.

Room Tip: We requested a sea view and was in the main hotel on the fifth floor - absolutely fab

i went here with my husband and 13 year old daughter, we all had a fab time. the weather was great, the beach was breath taking and my daughter said how she enjoyed going on the slides with her new friends. the food was good but my daughter is really fussy and just lived of chips most nights. the gala and turkish nights were the best for us as we ate outside and white drapes were over all the tables and chairs and look lovely, the entertainment was okay some night but we spent most night hanging round the pool listening to music and talking. the staff are all so friendly and try to make your stay as good aspossible. we are planning to go again next year with all the family.

6 of us stayed at seven seas for 10 nights (all Adults). (2nd september -13th september)

warm welcome on arrival offered food and drink.

Rooms were basic but clean, small fridge in the room, no tea making facility and nice view over pool.

Hotel and surroundings very clean and beach towels available.

plenty of sun beds and shade no need to reserve sunbeds.

Had two very nice evenings at the al a cart resturants, the waiters were very helpfull and entertaining these include Murat and Ahmet.

White water rafting trip well worth the money, market trip to Manavgat it was a good full day out including stopping at the waterfull.

entertainment all day volley ball and water polo, evening entertanment good singers, however finshed early 11:00.

If you want a good cocktail find bar staff 'Ohno'

Room Tip: Room 6215 over looking pool

Me and my husband booked this hotel for our honeymoon, and was very worried about the negative comments people had wrote on here, but we didn't need to worry. On arrival very early in the morning we was offered food and drink, which we declined, we got to our room which was basic but not as bad as people have commented on before, the room was spotless, huge bathroom with shower, fridge, t.v and safe. (you don't go on holiday to spend all the time in the room). Bedding was clean and so was the towels. So much to choose from at breakfast, from omlettes, to cereal, bread, cakes etc, there was so much choice. Evening meal was different every night but always something for even the most fussiest person to eat, there was chips every night and lasagne but everything else was different. Pool was very clean and so was the sunbeds, all the staff very friendly even the gardeners spoke to you. Only complaint we had was there was a lot of germans, and there could have been a little more entertainment of a night time. Don't be put off by the negative comments, me and my husband are looking at going back next year, as we loved it

Comments made regarding rooms have been well recorded. Very basic with little or no privacy on very small balconies. Food was very good, with excellent choice of menu.. Restaurant at times ressembled a school canteen, remember the hotel with all of its facilities is family focussed .Dress code was not adhered to in the restaurants.Shorts and t-shirts in the evening in a 5 star hotel is not what you would expect. Who wants to see a semi-naked body covered in tatoos ? The hotel policy is clearly stated at the entrance to the restaurant and the staff and indeed Thomson / Tui need to follow this up. Otherwise, the staff in the hotel were excellent, always happy and working so hard in what was exceptional heat. The entertainment was better than expected, but the programme worked on a weekly basis,so come the second week we had seen it all. All of the hotels in the area are all inclusive and it was impossible to go into them to see their entertainment even though we offered to buy drinks. There are a few shops in the area but it is only a few minutes on the local bus to Side which is well worth a visit.Would we go back to Turkey ? YES. but remember that its a large country with a contrasting coastline so we will try the area arond Fethiye next year.

Room Tip: request upper floor sea / pool view.
