Once again at the Gazipasa star made my stay great, I travelled alone this time and the welcome I received was brilliant, even made my room just like I was at home ha CELL BLOCK H haha loved it, the bar staff were brilliant again, it was great to see chief Ramsy still there making my Beef & tom roll into a beautiful flower ha :) cant wait to be back in May 2014.
Well done to all the staff and cleaners.:)

Room Tip: Most of the rooms face the pool and restaurant, so I f you want peace and quite after 21,00 don'...

As the last reviewer Wish we could have stayed longer for the weather. Housekeeping came in every day, leaving us amusing designs every day made out of Towels Blankets or sheets , Don't know how they found the time, but a very nice touch, only done in higher graded hotels in England !! Pool area cleaned down every morning. Bar staff were hard working and forever friendly and cheerful. Would go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay. Room spacious with shower room. Only down side was the early morning wake ups from Mosque crier which was a tape and too early in the morning . Selection on Breakfast could have been better i.e more fruit but was adequate. But as it was the end of the season it can be forgiven.

From our late arrival at 4am to the moment we left, we were treated to excellent service by everyone at the hotel. Housekeeping came in every day, leaving us amusing designs with our towels and the bar staff were hard working and forever friendly and cheerful. Our apartment was spacious and airconditioned and whilst quite dated, provided us with everything we needed. We chose self-catering because we wanted to sample different restaurants, but we ate a few times at the Gazipasa and the food was lovely. We found the restaurants in the area to be very good value and we did not have a bad meal for the whole of our stay. There is a free bus service to the sandy beach, where we found free sun beds and more friendly staff at the beach bar. We preferred to walk back, sampling a bar or restaurant on the way, which was probably about a 30 minute walk, easily done. The pool was at the hotel was a good size and not overcrowded at this time of year (but we did find the sea to be warmer than the pool!!). Our 10 days just flew by and we were very sad to leave. The staff here made, what on the outside looked a fairly basic place, a hotel we said we would definitely return to in the future.

Room Tip: We had a self-catering apartment which already had air-con, fridge, kettle etc. Other guests staying...

got this as a late booking and paid next to nothing for it, on arrival my heart sank as it looked desolate, once inside things took a turn for the better, I walked through reception to be confronted by a large swimming pool and nice surroundings. The rooms are dated but kept clean by the very happy cheerful cleaners, the bar staff although not fluent in English try their hardest, their English is a lot better than my Turkish, they were always happy and pleasant,,memmett is a star, even making me a Turkish lemsip when he found out I had a cold.the biggest complimaint I can give to the hotel is that you feel like your in a little friendly close knit community, the staff are friendly and cheerful which makes the customers happy and relaxed, would definatley go back.

We have just returned from two weeks holiday in The Gazipasa Star Hotel and reading some reviews we were very worried what we were going to. We had no worries as we found this hotel really friendly and our room was very nice. We were on the fifth floor and had a sea view (albeit quite a way away). Maid service was every day and towels changed every day as well. There is a mosque over the road and the call to prayer was five times per day but we did get used to that.
The beach was quite a way but there was a free bus in the morning to take you there and bring you back in the afternoon. We found this hotel was a bit remote for us, but some other holidaymakers thought it was great.

Room Tip: We found the fifth floor was ideal for us and we had a good view.

Nice small hotel which is in a good location. Food was good but breakfast very basic although you could pay extra for a cooked breakfast if required. Free bus service to Appollon Temple beach which is lovely with soft sand and free sunbeds!! 30minute walk takes you into Antik Side where all the tourist shops are, Restaurants are more expensive in the square at the harbour. Excellent meal at the Agora restaurant off the main street.

After booking a very budget holiday for 2 weeks at the end of September i was expecting a very budget hotel but this surpassed all expectations.
The staff were very friendly and spoke great English, and were willing to teach Turkish to me and a friend too.
Seyda in reception was amazing, always helpful and enjoyed a pleasant conversation and i hope she enjoys her time off afterabusy and hectic summer.
Mehmet the main bar man was an absolute soldier, always bubbly too and getting really involved and having fun on Turkish night along with the chef who i believe is also called Mehmet.
Simon another of the barmen was a querky character but a barrell of laughs i must say, little jokes here and there he was great fun to be around.
The maids were very polite and provided a great service and cleaned the rooms with fresh towels daily, and i'm sure if you asked they would have gone out of their way to get something for you too.
Entertainment in the hotel was good with a Turkish night on a Tuesday and BBQ night on a Saturday along with Karaoke, fire breathers, belly dancer, staff dancing it was all superb.

Side itself as a resort i feel has very little but give it time and i am sure it will grow into a fantastic tourist area, if this hotel could be picked up and put in Marmaris it would fit right in and provide an excellent base for the night life that Marmaris offers.

9.5/10 from me easily

Loved everyone at the hotel, especially Seyda in reception ;)
Would love to return in a few years after the development of Side abit.
