My partner and I stayed at the hotel from 13 - 21/09/12, The service at this hotel was truly excellent. Yes, there were hardly any English folk at the hotel, but we were expecting that.
The food was plentiful, always meat and fish cooked to order and plenty of interesting dishes such as okra or aubergine bake and we loved trying the unusual dishes, at breakfast we often had omelette cooked to order with filling of choice. The staff were always friendly, and even though we were out and about on trips, shopping or ruins, the time spent by the pool was fun (Ice Cream at 3 pm) and the weather was always hot. The entertainment staff worked really hard and even roped me into a poolside darts tournament. If all of your darts fell out you had to jump in the pool! Luckily this didn't happen to me.
The room was OK but we asked for another one overlooking the pool as the view was not great and they helpfully obliged. The mini bar was filled every day for free which was a nice touch, though drinks at the bar were good quality and topped up even when you said no, that you'd drunk enough!
We had a massage in the Hamman which was lovely. Shops around the corner on the way to the beach were also good. My partner bought a leather jacket there which they designed to our specifications and made in a day, and fitted and did alterations the next day. It looked really good, just like the Armani one that we based our design on.
The only thing I would gripe about is the fitness suite, the equipment was old and looked knackered, but hardly anyone else seemed to use it.
We would certainly go again.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool were best, but outer rooms were quieter.

Arrived late afternoon and was greeted at that the door by a friendly porter by the name of Ramazan who took our luggage, while checking in we were given a fruit cocktail by another friendly member of staff, then our luggage was taken to our room and we were shown all the facilities, Our room was ok but the balcony was very small so we asked for another room and within 5mins Ramazan appeared and took us and our luggage to a larger room/balcony overlooking the pool. This level of service continued throughout the holiday. Once the staff get to know you we were treated like royalty (this was helped by tipping the odd 2 lire here and there). The food was plentiful and always something nice to eat even for our fussy 6 year old, On Sat night all the sun loungers are cleared away and the tables are taken outside and the hotel is transformed with elaborate decorations with big gold bows on every chair, this is the hotels Turkish Gala night, it was truly one of the best nights we have ever had anywhere on holiday! A fantastic buffet cooked outside followed by an evening of Turkish dancing. The rooms are spotless as is the rest of the hotel, the reception with its coctail bar and grand piano gives a classy feel to the hotel, but it is still very relaxed. There is a Sign on the restaurant saying men are required to wear long trousers for dinner but they did not inforce this and most people wore shorts. The pool is large and spacious and the two separate water slides are great fun for young and old. All in all we had a fantastic holiday, the only minor gripe being the fact there were only about 6 other British families the rest were German or dutch, this did not bother us as most were very friendly, our daughter made friends with a little Dutch girl and even though neither spoke each others language (her parents spoke very good English) they played all day and night for the whole holiday! We would recommend this hotel and Side is worth a visit too (20 min stroll) with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and Roman ruins. One final piece of advise don't take Turkish lire, take Euros instead although the shops accept both everything is priced in Euros even at the airport and if you ask the price in Lire they have to get a calculator to work it out????? Very strange.

Room Tip: pool view rooms are great but some have a small balcony

Just got back from Holiday at the Side Star Park Hotel. Absolutely fantastic hotel, great rooms with air conditioning. lovely pool and water slide pool and a great Hammam for Turkish bath and Massage. A lot of people have mentioned that it is overrun with Germans. this is true but is this really an issue. Mixing with other Nationalities is quite fun and makes the holiday more enjoyable.
I had to laugh at one review who mentioned that because the food was all German he and his family had to eat out all Holiday. Correct me if i am wrong but i think the food we eat in this country includes - chichen - pizza - fish - steak - veal - potatoes - chips - rice - salad - eggs etc so the food is no problem and the best we have experienced on any Holiday. Also moaning that the holiday shop rep did not mention this is no excuse - why not search internet first before you book and see reviews as he has reviewed this hotel himself. I would recommend this hotel and resort to everyone - a really great hotel for your Holiday.

Room Tip: all rooms are of equal excellence - overlooking the pool is an advantage.

We stayed at Side Star Park between 10th Aug and 24th Aug, this year. We where a family of three which included our 7 year old son.
The hotel was once again very good it was clean, well maintained, and the food and service where excellent, although we did have one or two small problems they sorted them very quickly, and to our satisfaction. The free mini bar, and the tea/coffee making facilities in your room where nice touches.
We even had a bottle of wine and chocolates delivered to our room because we had stayed there before, which was very welcome.
The only problem were sun beds being snapped up by 08:30, I only know this because I went down at 08:30 one morning and there were none available! But this occurs in most hotels anyway.
We visited the al a carte fish restaurant twice and the level of service, and food where once again excellent, we also ate lunch at the beach bar most days as the kebabs where to die for…
I don’t know where the other reviewers stayed but we had no problem with any of the other nationalities staying at the hotel, apart from a Dutch boy that seemed to want to bully our son, but that was soon sorted out!!!!
The waiting and reception staff where very friendly, and our drinks where topped up all the time without having to ask, and all seemed to speak some English.
The only let down was First Choice, the rep dropped us outside our hotel and said goodbye, we never saw him again, there was no welcome meeting, and we only caught sight of another rep once.
On the return it was in a mini bus driven by a maniac, and a guide that was practising his English on us, once again just dropped off at Antalya airport and they disappeared.
We did the Dolphin boat trip, and white water rafting booked with Tony Macaroni which was both very good and excellent value for money.
The new walkway to Side town makes it an easy stroll rather than the old scramble up the rocks….
Overall the hotel is comfortable and the service is excellent, but First Choice need to brush up on customer service skills…

We stayed at the Side Star Park Hotel 2 - 9 August and we had a brilliant time. We were a family of four with 2 teenage girls aged 16 and 14. We had a late check in and the staff were so welcoming and we had a meal prepared for us in the dining room. We had 2 standard rooms on the 4th floor with a view of the side street. It was a fascinating view of the row of shops immediately outside our hotel, the wider Side town area and the sea. We could even see the ampitheatre! I never tired of looking at the view and of watching people.

The air conditioning in the room was very effective and I slept soundly at night. The food was fantastic - a great range to suit all tastes. I would recommend the home-made pizzas cut into small slices - delicious. Also popular with our family were the pancakes. We ate out at the fish restaurant which you can do once a week and had a lovely meal and the waiters were so friendly there, practising their English with us. A lovely experience to eat outside with a view of the sea. the snacks at 3.30pm - 4.30pm at the pool area were delicious - including pancakes.

We found the service excellent. There was plenty of staff and waiters were attentive in the restaurant and the bars and we never had to wait long to be served a drink. We found them very polite and hard working. I think the hotel is well run. We were in the minority - we only saw one other English couple there. I didn't mind this really as I was prepared for it, having read the previous reviews! Most of the staff could speak English or seemed to understand what we were staying. The entertainment was in English and German. There were some friendly Dutch guests who spoke to us. The sunbed issue was no worse than other hotels I have stayed in. We tried to get a shady spot if we could in the morning. There were more sunbeds free in the afternoon as people moved around.

The pool was lovely - very big which is just what you need. Plenty of room for people playing games, and lounging on sun-loungers as well as swimming. A big plus for me was the indoor swimming pool which was really cool and a good size. I sometimes had it to myself! It was useful at the hottest part of the day. The outdoor pool was at its best later in the afternoon and part of it goes into shade then.

You can walk into the beach and there are free sunbeds and umberellas for hotel guests in a marked area. You have to get there early to get the front row next to the sea. There's a lovely view of the bay. When it gets too hot you can retreat to the beach bar nearby for your drinks and sit outside in the shade and enjoy the view from there. We spent a whole day at the beach and had our lunch at the bar too - all included in the All Inclusive. It was really well organised I thought.

The Meditteraean themed evening was lovely - they made a real effort with food and presentation and we watched a circus afterwards.

The hotel is good for its location as you can walk easily into Side. We went there at night and also got up early to visit the ruins during the day. The Temple of Apollo was very impressive and we also went to the museum - I recommend that. All the information is in English.

The only negative was the extreme heat as the temperature didn't drop at night so it never got cool. It was humid too. I would recommend not going in August but it was the only time we could go. The heat meant that we couldn't explore the nearby area as we normally do as it was just too hot! We did go on one organised tour which we enjoyed - to the waterfalls and market. Our First Choice rep was helpful and we also asked the "Guest Relations" hotel employee for advice on the local area - she is available every afternoon at a desk at reception and can speak good English.

Being one of few English in the area meant that we were a novelty to the Turkish people, and we found the shopkeepers and bar staff in the town were friendly to us and tried to speak English with us. We felt guilty for not knowing any Turkish. We felt safe in the area, even with 2 teenage daughters with us. Of course the Turkish men were trying to sell us things and get us to come into their shops, but if you said no thank you they did not push it further. I can recommend trying the bar in Side with beanbags on the beach.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Side Star Park and would recommend this hotel to others.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the 4th floor with a view of the side street - the opposite to the pool view. The v...

We have just got back from side star park....4th august. cracking holiday, great hotel, but just were not expecting to be 1 of only 2 english families in a 700 bedroom hotel !! staff could barely understand english but most were nice and polite. it meant little things that would normally have been no problem became a trauma because nobody understood properly what you were trying to say. be prepared to sit down with a drink or meal and be arrogantly moved to another table for some reason you don*t quite get. there were Dutch and netherlands holiday makers too but we felt swamped by Germans.....i did*nt mention the war !!!! A movie channel with at least english subtitles would of been nice for our ten year old., and being charged for beach towels was a bit much but 20 quid for the safe for 2 weeks was taking the p...s......next time turkey ? Ishmella or marmaris so i am told......side not for English. it will do your head in after 14 nights.

Firstly can i just point out that this hotel is fantastic, spotlessly clean in all areas (pool, rooms, restaurant). Staff were very polite and helpful and late check-out was no problem at all. Hotel is also in excellent location for beach with walking distance of bars, shops & restaurants.
Despite all this the holiday was the worst me & my family have ever had.
This is 100% a German hotel. food is completely German, all the staff (although helpful) speak German, the entertainment was in German and any information given was in German.
This means that despite paying for all-inclusive we had to eat out for all meals every day due to the fact my pregnant wife and young son could not eat the food, also i had to seek entertainment to occupy my son as he could not join in anything at the hotel.
When booking the holiday with first choice the sale assistant never mentioned any of this, she could of just been honest and i would have picked a different hotel. Instead i end up with a very poor and costly holiday.
Do Not Go If British

Room Tip: Turkish Night was excellent with excellent kebabs. Use indoor pool if you need to cool down (nice a...
