We had a 1 bedroom apartment in Oct 2012 in the Kentia ape apartments, we were on a s/c basis, we had block A which was on the first floor over looking the pool, the apartment was nice and clean, dble bed and single in bedroom and good wardrobe space, window open wide if need be,bed settee in lounge, nice and spacious, patio doors, seating patio chairs(4) but the table was tiny just like a small coffee table, can't sit outside and have a meal, inside 2 hot plates, a kettle, very basic, didn't need to take a plug but all reviews I read beforehand said take one,
Staff excellent, nothing was to much trouble for them, pool lovely, no bridge over as it show in holiday brochure.pool kept very clean, meals at hotel are good, they have special nights.there is a very small mini market on site but only really sell milk, fresh bread every day and a few frozen bits of food, there is a big supermarket not to far, if you turn right out of hotel, walk up to the main road,, turn right then go to the top of the road, you have to cross the main road and will see it the other side, will have most of what you want, on that corner there is a Restaurant, we didn't think much to our meal so won't say to much about that, but it might just have been the stew type meal we had.
Only downside at the Kentia is it get really crowded around the pool, guest put towels on early hrs, so no different to yrs ago.and NOT ENOUGH Sun umbrella's, that was a real problem as they had 1 between 2 beds,
There is a free bus that pick you up outside the apartment from 9.3oam and take you to the beach, it takes you to a lovely beach, there are sun beds all along the beach, there is a beach bar to have lunch and drinks, lovely guys who run that and price ok.
If you turn right out of the apartment go to the end and turn left onto the high street, walk along down there , cross the road to the bus shelter the and you can get a bus into Side.they are mini buses very full and bit of a rough ride, you pay the driver by passing the money through his window if you happen to be stuck at the back, all very friendly.
side is a nice town, the bus drop you off on a sort of park where all the taxi's stop you get off, follow the crowd and walk through all the runes, they are amazing and you can take photos as you go along to the town, watch your bags.there is a bus/ coach that you can catch at the end of the town( you will pass that going in) and it will take you back to where you got off your bus, that will save your legs as am sure you will be tired, the cost wasn't much at all.
There is a market in Side opposite the mosque, you will see that when you walk down to the bus stop, think it was on a Sat, great fruit and veg, never seen melons that size and so cheap, that is a small one, the big market you need to get the bus, this side of the road, can't remember the name, start with an M, that is so cheap, again watch your bags, barter but know what you are doing, lots of designer stuff, mostly bags, bags and more bags, lot os the same stalls, very interesting!!
About 2 hrs from airport, and all the drop offs before we were dropped off, we were the last ones.
We loved the Turkish people, so friendly,
We wen't and visited the mosque, amazing workmanship, you can go in if there isn't a service going on, men and women have to wear long trousers and lady's cover their head, lovely inside, the guy who let us in let us take photos, we put a little money in their collection box, that is worth a visit.
We are going back in late Sept this yr, last yr it was adjust a but to late, we had some rain.
I think you will love it, it was our first time in Turkey and we loved it and want to go back, much cheaper than the euro.

Room Tip: Block A room 1. No sun.

These apartments are great and well worth a visit. We had a one bed apartment with a living area which was spacious, clean and well appointed with a large balcony over looking the pool area, The complex is set round the pool in beautiful well maintained gardens. The staff were very helpful and the Turkish evening was great fun. It was a little walk to the port but we like walking and there are plenty of restaurants near by. Other reviews have commented on the noise but we didn't find it a problem.

Noisy, Noisy Noisy!! If you want to go on holiday and relax don't stay here. When we asked the manager why the music was so loud his reasoning was that people were here on holiday - we didn't quite understand that one.
There are hotel functions on most nights - we didn't like the look of most of them so we ate out, although there are not many restaurants locally the ones there are range from good to very good - "My Corner" being the best. We ate at the hotel once - "Turkish Night" - the food was terrible; we didn't find out the cost until we checked out as the prices are never advertised, The cost of this cold buffet food was twice what we had paid for a good meal out.
Shortest distance to beach is a 20-30 min walk, to the old city will take about 50-60 mins.
We wouldn't go back to Side as we feel that the resort is now over-developed - we will probably stick to the quainter Greek/Turkish small town resorts in future as we have had very good experience of these in the past.

We have just got back from a week at Kentia. We stayed there at this time last year and we enjoyed it so much we decided to return. We were not disappointed. We stayed in C block in a 1 bedroomed apartment, there was plenty of room and storage space for clothes and cases. We ate breakfast everyday in the restaurant, it was reasonably priced and tasty. We also stayed for the Turkish and BBQ nights. The food was excellent. It was a 15min walk into Side where there is more bars and restaurants or there is a few just out of the Kentia on the main road. In Side there are the old ruins that you can walk through leading into the town. We recommend a visit to the Manolya Spa which is on the Kentia site for massages, again good prices. All the staff, from managers, bar staff to cleaners are all very helpful and friendly. I should imagine we will go agin next year..

Very good value. Very impressed with the standard of fixtures and fittings, nothing looked worn out. Excellent storage (we were 2 people in a 4 person apartment - 4 people might have been a bit more cramped). The cleaner did a good job every day with clean sheets and towels every 2 days. Barhroom fittings good quality. Good hairdryer provided - quite powerful.
Pool was kept to high standard, lots of time spent by pool staff cleaning the area around the pool and the gardens. Very beautiful trees and flowering plants/climbers. Beautifully lit at night.

On the negative side, they made a charge for Wifi in the bar/restaurant, so we went out to nearby bars/cafes who provided free Wifi (Red Lion, Ugur Pide, Doruk Pastanesi). Felt that Kentia was being really mean with their Wifi. Also, only 2 members of staff knew about the Wifi system, and they were often not available.
For us, the music was a low spot. Lying by the pool was really peaceful and relaxing ..... until they turned the music on, which was usually some kind of Euro techno beat. Often this started around lunch time and went on all afternoon. The music played at night was also a low spot, we could hear it clearly from our room, but usually stopped at 11ish.

On balance, we were very pleased with the deal.

We found the neighbourhood a bit dark and empty at nights (it was November and got dark at 5) but after a couple of days this stopped bothering us and we had no problems at all. We found ways to walk into Side main town which avoided the most isolated, dark roads.

Room Tip: I expect the music is loud in 3 out of the 4 blocks, only the block furthest away might be quieter.
