“Lovely holiday thanks to Akasya”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

If you want good customer service, excellent food and a "no frills" hotel close to the beach and all other amenities, then look no further than the Akasya Hotel. Myself and wife, Suzanne, had a lovely holiday in Side and a major feature was the the care and generosity given to us by Mustafa & Michelle. We will certainly be returning to the Akasya next year.

We stayed for the whole month of September at this fabulous little hotel and could easily have stayed on. The rooms are perfectly adequate and cleaned every day by lovely hostess, Michelle. Breakfast is always good and fresh, served by Michelle's partner, Mustafa. Both hosts are excellent chefs and dinner is always a very pleasant experience. These two bend over backwards to ensure your stay is faultless, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is ideally situated in a quiet little street in Old Side 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes in the other direction to the very varied shops and restaurants of main street. Highly recommended, we'll be back!!

We stayed at this small pension (not a hotel as stated on their name) for five nights.
Rooms are very simple but clean. Location is excellent, its in the heart of Ancient Side
(town center), and just 2 mins walk to the beach.

* Very small Shower & Toilet
* Breakfast is very basic and almost same everyday but very fresh and tasty.
* They didn't change our bed sheets for 5 days
* 2nd day we forgot to close the windows, Michelle knocked the door and asked
us to close the windows or AC, we were sleeping.
* I have never before stayed in a place that didn't have enough water pressure
to take a shower, it was annoying. Mustafa told us, its due to the city's infrastructure,
a bit suspicous explanation :)
* We checked out very late, they didn't charge us, that was very kind.
* You can reach owners (Mustafa or Michelle) whenever you need something or suggestions almost 7/24,
which is a good thing
* As we are also cat lovers We loved their cats but if you don't like them (why?) stay away.

Its not a starred hotel and if you think the price you paid, a good place to stay ,
very good value for the money.

Been to Akasya 4 times over the past three years and love it!

The owners michelle and mustafa are great and make u feel right at home, although they do have a few cats so if u don't like cats beware but they don't jump on the guests or go anywhere near the rooms.

Mustafa and michelle cook all the meals fresh, none of this heated up rubbish u get in many places in side, and most of all its CHEAPER than other places.

Can't wait to go back in spetember

This is my 4th visit and hopefully there will be many more. This pension, managed by Michelle and Mustafa, offers 8 rooms which are either twin beds or double bed. The beds are very comfortable and I always sleep well.

Each room has a double wardrobe with plenty of hangers and large shelf. More than enough room for clothes for 2 people. The bathroom is on the small side but there is more than enough room to shower etc and is kept spotlessly clean. In fact the whole room is cleaned thoroughly daily and Michelle even folded my nightclothes.

Breakfasts, included in the price, are made fresh to order by Mustafa and he will cater for most tastes if at all possible. There are snacks available to buy all day and there is a restaurant where the food is excellent.

Michelle and Mustafa provide extra personal touches that I have not had at other pensions or hotels. There is safety deposit boxes available and air conditioning if needed at extra cost. There is a bar/restaurant area which can be enclosed in cold/wet weather which is very useful in early/late season when the weather can be changeable.

The Akasya is only a few minutes walk to the Town Beach and five minutes from the East Beach. It is just a few minutes from the Ampitheatre and the main street and all that Antique Side has to offer.

If you like small and friendly hotels right near all amenities then this is the place for you.

Just returned from another excellent stay at the Akasya. Rooms are kept very clean with towels changed daily. Beach towels provided if needed. Excellent Turkish breakfast cooked to order. The hosts Mustasfa and Michelle will go out of their way to ensure that you enjoy your holiday with extra little touches that you would not get anywhere else. A little oasis in old Side! It feels like a second home every time we stay. looking forward to my next visit in May next year.
