“Better than expected and would return”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

I have just returned from a week in The Turquoise Resort and have to say it was one of the best all inclusive I have stayed in for ages. As ex holiday reps myself and 2 friends have worked all over the world and have to say outside the Caribbean this hotel is one of best for the all inclusive product it offers.
Check in was excellent and a welcome drink and short briefing ideal for a late arrival. We were allocated a room on the ground floor in the main building. Our air conditioning was not working and we did ask if we could move to a higher floor so we could have the door open at night but unfortunately the hotel was full. The hotel possibly might consider that 3 women may not wish to have a ground floor room due to safety but we managed just fine and found the room to be really good standard and overall very happy. Mini bar is included and stocked daily with robes and slippers to use plus free safe deposit box and plenty of wardrobe space so everything you could ask for.

The pool was lovely and plenty of sunbeds everywhere. We found the option of pool, garden and beach ideal so we could have best of all. The drinks around the pool were good and cocktail selection was varied plus the usual beer, soft drinks etc.

The beach was sandy and you can walk either way but best to walk into Side town. It takes about 30mins and you can see the Roman Ruins from the beach. Plenty of watersports on beach too offering all types. There are 2 jettys part of the complex and lovely to walk down them to sunbath and swim off the jetty pier. The sea was a little rough and lots of waves so not ideal for not strong swimmers.

Food was one of the best features of the hotel. Such a varied choice at all meal times. I disagree with comments that not good for veggies. My friend is veggie and Ive never seen her eat as much on holiday ever!! Lovely salads and pasta. Very impressed that there is a bakery station where you can get fresh bread still in plastic covering. Lots of fresh fruit and pastires and always ice cream and the theme nights were excellent. Only small comment was no fajitas and nachos on Mexican Night?????? might be a suggestion. Overall the Executive Chef at this hotel is excellent and really has thought about each meal.

Entertainment again was very good. We never really get involved but we felt the animation team got it just right being visable and friendly but not pushy or annoying. They came around every day at breakfast to say good morning and provided activities during day plus were very sociable at night and got everyone up dancing. Special mention to Mustafa and Burak who were especially good. There was a show or a live band on every night and that they had professional acts for this made a huge difference. We looked forward to it every night where in other hotels we usually go out.

Waiting staff were also very good and special mention to Sahin & Ali5 in the Sultan Bar who kept us topped up with drinks and very friendly and proffessional

The patisserie is also one of the key features that stands this hotel apart as never seen it before in an all inclusive. The standard of this was excellent and open 11am until 11pm. Everyone loved it and was located next to main bar so focal point in afternoons and evenings.

The indoor pool and spa were also really lovely. The hammam especially was impressive and we enjoyed a rainy morning in there.

There is nothing outside the hotel to walk to but its 10 Euro in a taxi or 1Euro on local bus into Side. We also went to Mangavat to the local market and got a taxi which cost 10 Euro.
I would def recommend late check out to Thomson guests due to late flight. We originally were told that we could not have this as hotel full but after negotiation managed to secure another room to keep until 8pm, Cost was 80 Euros but well worth the money if your flight pick up is 10pm at night as it means you can enjoy fully the last day,

Overall I would recommend this hotel and return. Thankyou for a lovely holiday.

Just got back from 2 weeks at this hotel. We went going on the excellent reviews. Thomson give this hotel Platinum status which it isn't. Have stayed in other Platinum hotels which deserve it, this doesn't.
Staff are rude and very unhelpful. Rooms are okay but general areas need a refurb as look shabby and tired. The worst thing is food. If you have an allergy or are a veggie then you will have problems as very little choice. Everything either in a sauce or dry and unappetising. For two weeks we lived on fruit, bread, soup which was always piping hot and tasty and cheese. Show buffet not in restaurant but outside and food either cold or luke warm. On first arrival hotel looks fantastic but don't be falled by first impressions. Our first time to Turkey and we would go back as area beautiful but not to this hotel.

Have just read some of the recent reviews I feel they must have been to another hotel!! This has to be one of the best hotels in terms of service, food quality and variety, friendliness of the staff, and the overall ambiance. Some of the recent reviews are hard to comprehend in terms of their comments. Yes there are better hotels nearby but at almost double the cost for only a slight increase in quality. The food is well presented, varied and hot. Each evening in the main restaurant has a different theme which adds to the variety and allows you to sample different cuisines. The rooms are well furbished, roomy and the beds very comfortable. The grounds are immaculate and well-kept with any litter being removed almost immediately. The animation team are excellent and the kids club is very popular. The shows I saw during our 10 night stay were excellent and everyone seemed impressed. If it was a band they had most of the crowd up and dancing. It is a cosmopolitan hotel and caters well for all the various nationalities.
I have two simple criteria when writing a review:
Would I go back – Yes Would I recommend it to friends - Yes

Room Tip: Floors 2 and 3 are the best in the main building.

I wanted a holiday in the sun where me and my partner could relax for a week! This hotel was perfect! Great weather, great food (buffet and Alacarte). Rooms were really good and had all the facilities needed. Staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful! We had a very warm welcome when we arrived and were greeted with champagne! A lovely resort with a lovely beach - the resort is in a quiet location but is perfect if you don't really want to leave the hotel. We did take a walk to side town which was about 2 miles walk down the beach but didn't feel we needed to leave the hotel. If I had to chose a down it would be the spa staff could be pushy and would keep trying to get you to have a massage! But I would highly recommend this hotel and will return! Thank you!

This hotel is located in what can only be described as idyllic surroundings; lush green forestation rolling down the relaxing lawns to an iconic Turkish beach. This is the hotels main selling point, which I suspect is now starting to slip somewhat with the onset of newer hotels around the corner.

The hotel is immaculately clean in nearly all areas, and it is clear the staff work hard to keep it that way.

The pools were excellent and we always found space to set up camp and take in the sun.

So that is the good, now to the not so good.

The staff - while there are some gems in the mix, overall the staff were not that friendly, and with a predominantly German clientèle not all speak good English. The animation team did an excellent job of being out and about, and there were some good activities to choose from, although almost every time there seemed to be a reason why we were unable to. The nice touch of walking around the breakfast hall first thing in the morning to say hello was very good.

Restaurant food was a bit 'samey' but do not expect late food from the so called late breakfast, as double hard boiled eggs and curly croissants do not really hit the spot.

A la carte's were OK, but there are much better to choose from in other hotels in the area we have stayed in. The menu's tend to be 'set' with just a final element to choose from. Hardly a full A la carte offering but overall the experience was an enjoyable one.

We opted for the two room family suite, located next to the villas. This is sited in the wooded area, and given they are premium rooms it sort of defeated the object of going on a beach holiday - more like centre parks with good weather! This seemed somewhat ludicrous and took away the pleasure of sitting on the balcony in the evenings.

The night time entertainment was somewhat 'eurotrashy' non lingual, but overall sort of hit the spot given the market they are catering for. It din't really work for us.

The hotel has some really weird policies, and it seems that not all of them are geared to your absolute pleasure. We did find some quite restrictive and were often left questioning why.

Some areas are starting to look a bit tired, and would suggest a facelift is on the cards in the next year two.

I believe this is a mid 3 to 4 star hotel, and suspects it keeps it low rating to boost the Tripadvisor ratings. In the time we went it slipped from number 2 in the are to number 4, and I can see why.

Room Tip: Don't book expensive rooms from the UK. Book the lowest cost room and upgrade on arrival as it i...

Outward flight - Very good flight, on time and cabin crew very friendly
Antalya Airport not great, had to wait around 40 minutes for luggage then when trying to find Thomson Rep this proved difficult and eventually found them sitting behind a desk at the front of the airport which was not labelled Thomson so caused a lot confusion.
Transport to the hotel was also not great as we had a driver that could not speak English and as it was dark we could not recognise any of the hotels that he was pulling into.

Arrival at the hotel very good, first impressions very good indeed. Reception staff very efficient and explained everything in detail whilst we drank a glass of champagne. Bell boy very efficient when taking us to the room with our luggage.

Room very clean and comfortable (E block room 6110) noise kept to a minimum. room overlooked the private villas and away from the main hotel.

Gardens and surroundings were kept exceptionally well and clean, very pretty.

Food - main restaurant very busy during lunch and dinner, but as we are early risers breakfast was much quieter and we had our own pet cat to keep us amused.
Service by staff exceptional and had very good memories with regard to your drinks.
Food very good, although a little repetitive.

We drank mainly in the lobby bar in the evenings and the barman and his assistant very friendly and very soon new what our tipple was.

Never had an issue with acquiring a sunbed as the hotel had a policy of no reserve before 9.00am. Great that they had grassy areas as well as the great beach and pool areas in which to sunbath.

Thomson Rep - her name was Deanne and I have to say that she is probably the nicest and most friendly rep we have had on a Thomson holiday. Never had a problem finding her and always greeted us with a friendly smile. She is a very bubbly person and clearly enjoys what she does.
