Don't confuse the Korner Bar (on Fatih Sultan Mehmet Blv) with My Corner (on Cemal Gursel Blv). The former is a cut above.
Although on a main road the Korner doesn't have a lot of passing foot traffic, so it depends heavily on repeat business. The decor is fifties America but the menu is typical of many Turkish restaurants in Side with steaks, kebabs, fish etc but, in this case, no pides - strange, because the restaurant has a pide oven which turns out pseudo Italian pizzas and the complimentary lavas bread served as a meze. The food is good and reasonably priced but what sets the Korner apart is the atmosphere. The staff are smart, efficient and very welcoming. Expect much hand shaking on entering and leaving but the friendliness never descends into over-familiarity. It's a nice place to relax and there are never any nasty surprises when the bill comes.
We have been umpteen times over the years and recommend it with confidence.
